Emily joins you, nosing around - but you barely need any time at all. One particular tree is slightly off, and a touch causes it to slide aside. It reveals a passage to the west, fog choked and obscured.

"I doubt a wind spell will do anything. Let's stick close together. Anyone able to do anything to see through it?"

I have tremorsense to 30 ft.

You don't feel the earth moving, but you are able to blunder ahead. It's a tiny clearing, and in the fog choked center a single book rests on the ground, leaning against a tree.

It's a leather bound tome, fat with pages and ancient with years.

[Iron Dragoon]

"That seems rather suspicious. Traps?"

Alyssa looks for traps!

Do you have trapfinding?

"Good, be cautious. It saves lives," Jarem says, a smile gracing his face.

"It's not likely to be a dangerous trap, not that dangerous. It's still in the Court of Stars," Emily protests, "You should check it for magic instead."

The book is trapped. Semi invisible wires criss-cross it, virtually impossible to touch it without touching the wires.

Alyssa chants a quick spell, casting detect magic on herself.

"Don't ever ignore a possibility. There's wires all around it. The trap that kills you is the one you didn't bother checking for. Magic is the obvious danger, which makes a non-magical trap easier to hide."

[Anastasia]

"No, you're right," Emily says, "Mom taught me better than that." Shaking her head, "I got too caught up in things."
