Diplomatic aftermath

Seira nods. She'll have to see how this goes, but the Gith's stance favors her more than the efreet, so that's a diplomatic win.

If Valar hasn't left yet, I'll tell him to head out. Is anyone else coming to me, like Kascha from her studies at Aurora's library or one of my Inner Planes friends having issues with Sanzha's request to join the war on our side?

You see Valar off. As you do, Elle walks up besides you as you watch them go. "Seira," she says, "A creature of Mineral is here, speaking on behalf of Crystalle."

"Let's have a chat," Seira says, taking this new development in stride.

[Anastasia]

The creature is a figure of gems and gold, looming tall. Taller than two Hanna's stacked atop each other, watching you with no expression. An elemental to be sure, they aren't usually long on things like strong emotions, anyway.

"Lord Crystalle will not join this war," Is the announcement, "But he inquires if you need money to fund this war."

[Corwin]

The only reason to refuse that offer is pride, and Seira's pride takes a step back to her principles. "I would be grateful for any such aid," she responds.

[Anastasia]

"Then you will have it. How much do you need?" The elemental says.

[Corwin]

"I'm thinking of two things to better fight this war. The first... I want to outfit my army with anti-efreet weapons, forged with the Cauldron's proprietary technique," Seira responds. "We do have excellent smiths and, obviously, Cauldron Steel as the source material of choice, but the quantity of weapons needed can only be crafted with your funding. Would that be possible?" Pausing briefly to gather her thoughts, Seira continues. "The second thing is a mission arch, inspired by our friends at Aurora. An Elemental Harmony weapon could be made relatively cheaply, yet be made to strike at the efreet with maximum effectiveness with a few simple spells. They just need to be properly extended, and be available to so many it is impractical to do this manually."

I'm asking whether we can have Elemental Harmony weapons (effective +3) or Elemental Harmony Fire Outsider Bane weapons (effective +5) made of Cauldron Steel for our regular dudes, and a mission arch the primary function of which would be providing time-extended applications of Flaming/Frost/Shock/Acid/any other elemental source I forgot. Ideally, it'd mean they could hit for a lot of damage the efreet are weak at, and count as epic weapons from GMW giving +5 and Bane putting it into the +7 range.

If it's workable, I'm interested in seeing whether my named NPCs and myself could have weapon upgrades as well to include Fire Outsider Bane or Holy or something. Depends on how much they would like to help us out.

Also you never did sign off on the mission archs, it's one of the posts awaiting a proper answer, so I didn't want to presume.

Rough figures:
Crafting cost of 260,000,000gp for +5 equivalent Cauldron Steel weapons (+1 Elemental Harmony Fire Outsider Bane) for 10,000 soldiers.
Crafting cost of 90,000,000gp for +3 equivalent regular weapons (+1 Fire Outsider Bane) for 10,000 soldiers.

Crafting costs of probably no more 500,000gp for a mission arch?

"Money can be provided," The elemental says, "The arch...Aurora's arch?"

"Not an exact copy, since that's in bad taste and ill-suiting for our campaign. But a similar concept. Greater Magic Weapon alongside various elemental powers for the Elemental Harmony to channel productively and better durations on the latter. Possibly fire resistance as well. I also haven't studied their exact design, but an aura or emanation would probably work better than having to touch it. Unless it was triggered by passing underneath it? Because that's quite elegant in its simplicity." Seira shakes her head. "To be clear, I'm not trying to add things I've been contemplating as internal improvements. I'm focusing solely on the war effort with that request."

In that case, pretty much 26,000gp and 9,000gp crafting costs, depending on how much they want to provide.

"Funds will be provided to help," The elemental agrees.

This will be handled and noted. Go ahead and have a note that your forces are getting some improved weapons - not 200 million gold worth, there's limits here - but enough to help augment the right troops with the right weapons. This'll give you an extra tick upward in combat ability. As for the node, expect a loot post momentarily.

Nice! Is there enough to upgrade our own epic weapons with efreet-bane, too? Like for Dragon's Grace, Cauldron's Blast or Guardianil?

What exactly do you mean by efreet bane?

Fire Outsider Bane, which is what you told me would ping all efreet.
