If I can get a clear shot at 100 feet I'll take it, otherwise as close as necessary past that.

I'll make sure to be downwind of the stag, circling around as necessary.

Anastasia

Sure, give me stealth.

The stag makes no notice of you as you slowly circle around and approach, preparing your shot.

Drawing on the bow's endless supply of arrows, Alicia takes aim and shoots a small flurry of them into the stag's neck.

Arrows pepper the stag, the volley of them enough to down the beast. It lies there bleeding out, a few weak movements before going still.

"Good shots, dear," Syala calls from afar.

"Not as graceful as Jessica, but all the same a clean kill," Alicia stands up, approaching her downed quarry.

Anastasia

As you approach the others appear at your side.

"Great shots, sister," Jessica smiles, your stag as magnificent as Jessica's. It lies there, slain by your archery.

The Red Knight thumbs your back with a hearty smile and adds, "Those were good shots. You would have made a fine archer in another life."

"I've trained in lots of weapons, but the directness of melee combat appeals and it complements magic better," Alicia says, preserving and sending this stag back alongside Jessica's. "Enough? Or shall we hunt more?"

Anastasia

"I can hunt later," Syala says, "I have no haste."

"Then we'll go back," The Red Knight agrees and...

Moving onto the next part of this meeting, then?

The lodge is warm and decorated in a rustic way. Heads of various animals adorn the walls, thick animal carpets on the ground. Various weaponry joins it on display, the air thick and fragrant with the smell of cooking meat. Comfortable chairs and blankets are provided around the fire, glasses of spiced, warmed cider given.

"When I was mortal," The Red Knight begins, drinking from her cup with both hands, "I adored no other respite than a day of hunting during the colder months of year, then to spend the evening warming before the fire and feasting on the fruits of my labors."

Jessica drinks from her own glass and says, "And...you still do," she says, "I do not plan to give up my bakery or my family, your point is well taken."

Having given Red Knight that longbow back and with her sword resting on the floor to let her sit comfortable, Alicia leans on the armrest of her chair and sips at her cider. "Mystra has encouraged me to remind her about enjoying trivial pleasures to distract her from getting too removed in her duty," she says to further Jessica's acceptance of that point.

Anastasia

"I enjoy many things still," Syala agrees, "As we are, I can see everything for miles and more, be lost in all my worshipers." A long drink of her own cider, "That way leads to acting like Kossuth or Grumbar."

"So it does," The Red Knight agrees as she sips away as well, "It is a peril we all face, that we grow too distant from what makes us human and become little more than elemental forces, pursuing our Answers and losing our humanity in the process. What profit is that, what benefit does that avail us?"

"Nothing at all," Syala seconds, "I wouldn't be enjoying this cider, and you really must tell me how you make it. It's great."

"I'm more worried about Antenora for that," Jessica snuggles beneath her blanket, "I put my faith in Marie to keep her grounded, rather than losing herself in her duties."

"I think Antenora will be fine, she pays attention to the small things as much as the big things," Alicia says. "Though yes, Marie does help engender a healthy level of pettiness in her as well."
