Alicia only nods. The second strike will certainly clarify things, although whoever's putting those portals up is already someone tremendously powerful, since the comparison with Latha's Legion's Gates spell does not come out in their favour.

Still, she hopes Marie and Jessica do well on their end...

Meanwhile...

Jessica hurries through the passages, the honeycomb passed. At last Jessica runs up a slope as you hold on, ducking into shadows behind some loose stones. Here is a cresting ridge that feels into a massive, open air cavern. The far side opens into the valley directly, letting in sunshine. Here a demon camp is established, hundreds and hundreds festering in like a sickness. Defenses are being prepared, various caverns all opening up into here. Demons hurry about as you position safely, a sea of tents and shanty houses thrown together.

"There," Jessica breathes, for amid them all sits one large tent, big as six tents together and topped with a banner of a bloated corpse.

Like this it's easy to creep back and from there - Jessica darts from safe point to safe point. Between boxes and supplies, rocks and tents. Jessica is utterly silent, not the faintest disturbance as she moves past things. Yet as you go - from faraway in the camp, you hear a roar of profound fury, of raw hatred. Roars answer in kind, the air growing thick with fury. It's harder to breathe, harder to feel anything but an urge to fight.

Jessica slides between two tents smoothly as this happens, not even slowing down for it. She slips past a humanoid in full armor without losing a step, who turns towards the roars.

These demons sure know how to whip up a crowd. Still, Marie tries to keep a clear head as she clings on to Jessica - killing demons here might be a bit productive, but shutting down those portals is most important.

Then all can bear witness to the amazing barrage in its element, oh yes.

There's a pause before Jessica simply starts moving again, heading onward.

Not being able to actually talk or communicate is a thing, a telepathy spell would be optimal here. Live and learn.
