Anastasia

It definitely wouldn't hurt, and if it transmutes them to clear water on slaying them, it may well save you some serious grief.

Nephrite

Well except we need to avoid the awful styx water now, don't we??

Anastasia

If you wish to do that, I recommend doing something like that.

Moore gestures and points in the direction of the incoming rain! "Be ready to dodge!" He shouts!

so, Moore is casting Shades, to duplicate Wall of Iron. Your guess is as good as mine as to how this works, so you get to arbitrate!

The idea will be to make it as thick as possible because he's aware the Styx water will likely eat away at the magic that makes up the wall.

Anastasia

Okay, so to be clear, your goal is to conjure the shades (wall of iron) and...?

#339
Well, the hope is that the wall is 80% real, so will stop 80% of the Styx Water. That's the goal, anyway. And he'll make it as thick as he can, so 80% of the Styx Water will eat away at the wall rather than eat away at them. They still have to avoid 20% of the Styx Water, but that's not as bad.

At least, that's how I'd think it would work in my mind.

Okay. So, shadow conjuration and its ilk work 100% if the creature believes them to be real. In this case, since these aren't creatures, they can't really "disbelieve" something, so wouldn't it work as a full on Wall of Iron? Or am I wrong?

i just read that objects automatically succeed so back to A.

Anastasia

Okay, and you're free floating space. What precisely is going to stop a giant, heavy wall of iron from falling like a rock?

<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Nephrite

Oh, I guess I fundamentally don't understand how the Deep Ethereal works then, I kind of assumed there wasn't a concept of gravity there, is that wrong?

Anastasia

There's no gravity, you fly through will (like in Air or the Astral). The terrain that's there ultimately ends up floating there for whatever reason or through artificial means. There's a reason most of it is empty, misty space. Feel free to revise if this changes your calculus.

In that case, change Wall of Iron to Maze.

Anastasia

Okay and...?

Maze banishes a target into a maze. Is that supposed to do something to the rain? Serious question, I don't get it.
