Is it a nest full of Sharrans? Marie keeps tabs on his inner monologue while he and his friend conspire, innocently drinking her wine and taking in the ambience otherwise.

"Finally," The elf exhales, "All in time, but this time has been longer than others." He thinks of that fire, thinking soon they'll finally have evidence.

"The Sharrans have run amok too long," The human agrees, smiling faintly. "You've done good work here. We don't forget our friends."

[Ebiris]

Marie isn't about to interrupt them or anything, she keeps on eavesdropping.

They both seem on the level.

"I want to be more," The elf murmurs back.

"Under Selune's gaze, you will be," The human answers, a smile crossing his face. "The light of the moon shows the way forward."

Marie continues listening in to what's said and what's thought!

Unless someone pulls a knife she's not going to interfere so we can just cover the entire conversation, summarised as necessary, rather than her having to check in and say 'still listening!' every other line.

There's not much more to it - a few murmured reassurances and the elf departs, leaving the man be. Not a lot more is gotten from the conversation.

The human seems to be the more active participant, so Marie plans on following him when he leaves, making strategic use of her ability to turn invisible when no one's looking so she can tail him unseen.

She'll take 10 for 57 (77 with invis) on stealth.

He slips through the streets with a casual ease, soon coming to an inn and going to a room within.

[Ebiris]

Once he goes into that inn room Marie teleports outside so she can peek in through the window and listen in to anything that occurs within. All still invisible and sneaky of course!

The man fetches a basin of water and strips off, then cleans himself with a rag. Beneath that clothing he's all sleek muscle, not the slightest hint of fat on him. An adventurer's body, no two ways about it. As he cleans himself, he occasionally pauses and murmurs, "Under the light of the moon, I am cleansed," before continuing.

Seems like a Selunite alright. Marie continues her not at all creepy observation until he goes to sleep!

Notably, the bathing ritual is usually only used when bathing under the moonlight and for certain cleansing rituals related to that. Some sects do use it like this and it's not a heresy, merely an unusual variant. You recall Selune has some presences here, but it's not something usually taught by this world's clergy - they all tend to be mainline except the Lunatics.

It's not enough to seem suspicious to Marie - he could well be doing this in private to avoid being seen by any Sharrans in town.

Once he's asleep and assuming nothing else happens, she'll go find Seldyn manor!
