*We can leave non-magical items unless they're off some interest, such as pieces of art or whatever.

-Maybe find a way to get the tower somewhere else and take the spirits with them if so possible.

First of all is going down. It's not hard to reach the heartscale - the scale the size of a a trio of Hannas or so. It is a dull ruby red, floating amid a complex web of magic symbols and circles. The floor is inlaid with bands of gray metal, the metal deeply scored with writing in Draconic.

Moore will investigate the magic and the writing!

It's spellwork, all parts of a greater design to keep the energies of the heartscale flowing and cycling.

do I have any idea to what end? Is it what's keeping the tower cool, doing something else, funneling the power somewhere?

[Anastasia]

It powers the magic of the tower as well as absorbs ambient magic around the tower. In this case, the energies of Fire.

[Nephrite]

"Wait, wait, wait..." Moore says. "This tower wasn't supposed to be here, right? It ended up here...? So why is this even here? Did this tower end up here some hugely long time ago, and then it got... repurposed?"

Can he tell if the ambient power it was absorbing is what ended up being transferred in the other room, or is this different?

No, it's not a case of it being designed for Fire. It's a case of it's designed to get ambient magical energy. It just so happens its on Fire so that's what it's getting.

[Nephrite]

Ah! Okay. I will re-line then.

Moore hrms a few times as he studies the magic.

"...I don't know what will happen if we take this down from here, but we probably ought to." Moore says. He looks back to the others. "Maybe after we explore the whole place so we don't have to deal with the heat, though. But, still... why? What's the purpose of this thing?"

He shakes his head. Perhaps the answers will be found even deeper? For now, he'll continue to explore.
