After the words

"Go ahead," Ianvasah says, "This is your lead, I'll check the fortress."

[Iron Dragoon]

Alyssa nods and heads towards the nearest one!

[Anastasia]

It looks to be a tree, sheathed in moonlight. It flickers in it as ahead you see another tree illuminated, then another and another.

[Iron Dragoon]

Alyssa inspects the tree, trying to pick out what might make it chosen to be illuminated.

[Anastasia]

It looks like a silver maple tree. It's unremarkable to look at on a glance, a simple tree with nothing unusual about it.

[Iron Dragoon]

Alyssa follows the path of illuminated trees.

[Anastasia]

The trees lead away from the path. It leads into a small forest of silver maple trees, a faint scent of sweetness and syrup in the air. Ahead, the moonlight shows a small house, and then another and another - a bit of a village perhaps.

[Iron Dragoon]

Alyssa approaches the village in the open, not hiding herself. Don't want to appear suspicious, after all.

[Anastasia]

Do you have a weapon readied?

[Iron Dragoon]

Not technically, but Life-Drinker is in my Cloak and part of its abilities is retrieval as a swift.

[Anastasia]

Thus you pass into the village. It's perhaps a dozen houses of red brick frosted white, sturdy houses with two stories and tall red chimneys. It blends into the forest unnaturally well, the eye seems to slip past it in a way that suggests magic to your trained mind.

As you walk in, a simple fox comes from the bushes, watching you.

[Iron Dragoon]

Alyssa looks at it and cocks her eyebrow, "Well hello. Who might you be? And where might I find the rest of those who live here, I wonder..."

[Anastasia]

The fox takes one look at you and wags its tail, before running ahead and into the village.

[Iron Dragoon]

"Well, at least it didn't snarl, I suppose."

Alyssa leisurely strolls into the village, heading to the nearest building to knock on the door.

[Anastasia]

You head into the village. You the fox goes up to a house, where on the doorsteps a man sits. He's snoozing, a rather short and wiry man in simple clothes. His head is bowed as he naps away, the fox sitting next to him.
