Deep into the Infinite Stair

"I'm not sure - let me try, I can better endure if it's dangerous," Alicia says, reaching out and first laying a hand on top of the sphere.

[Anastasia]

The moment you touch the sphere, it turns a shade of sky blue with a few flecks of red within.

[Ebiris]

"Hmm... doesn't hurt or anything," she picks it up in both hands, studying the new colour and holding it out. "You touch it as well, and then take it off me?" she asks to see how the colours change with both of them and with just Jessica.

[Anastasia]

Jessica's touch causes the colors to swirl and change, until they settles into a solid, crimson red color.

[Ebiris]

Is that with both us touching or after she has it alone?

[Anastasia]

Both.

[Ebiris]

"So I'm blue with a little red, you're red, and both of us are red," Alicia says. "Let me try taking it from you?" she asks, reaching out so they're both touching it again and a moment later lifting it from Jessica's hands entirely.

[Anastasia]

You take it. The orb returns to blue with a little red.

"Hm, it's queued to us somehow," Jessica says, "Our auras or our souls?"

[Ebiris]

"I think so. Or... let me try something," she puts it back down on the bone to see if it goes back to randomly cycling colours again. Then she carefully rests the flat of her holy sword atop it and lets go of the sword, stepping back.

[Anastasia]

Once you put it down, it returns to rainbow colors. Placing your sword on it causes no change at all.

[Ebiris]

"I thought it might respond to alignments but no reaction to a holy sword," Alicia says, taking her blade and stowing it again. "The two of us make for a poor sample size. Your majesty?" she looks up and calls. "Are you able to tell us what colour it was for you?"

[Anastasia]

"Pale green and white," Is her answer.

[Ebiris]

"Thank you," Alicia says. "Hmm. I feel like it still must have something to do with alignments, just only for conscious beings and not for items? That doesn't necessarily help us control it however. I'm going to test the alignment theory a little more however..."

She focuses a moment and summons forth a large feathered serpent.

SMIX SLA to summon a lawful good couatl.

"Please can you rest your tail against that orb?" she asks once it appears.

[Anastasia]

The couatl bows as much as it can, "I will serve, divinity," it says, before it touches the orb. The orb becomes a mix of sky blue and pale white, a swirled blend.

[Ebiris]

"Thank you, that is helpful," Alicia says to the feathered serpent before she dismisses it. "Perhaps purer colours for divinity, the white for non-divine? That would have had a similar alignment as I do, now I'll try one close to your own," she says to Jessica.

SMIX SLA to summon a neutral good moon dog.

"Please can you put a paw on that orb?" she asks once it appears.
