Rebirth and redemption

[Anastasia]

Once Latha is gone the two of you walk ahead. "Well..."

Before I explain, I need you to have your spells finished and settled. We'll resume tonight once you have your spell list done.

[Anastasia]

"Well," Strength of Light says, "You'll be put into a valley surrounded by mountains. The entire area's scry proof because of magical energies that flow in the area. Your goal is to escape. The same magic that stops scrying also makes flight all but impossible."

[Iron Dragoon]

Alyssa nods, "Does it interfere with any other magics?"

[Anastasia]

"No," Is the answer, "Besides teleportation, but the easy way out defeats the entire trial," Strength of Light explains.

[Iron Dragoon]

Alyssa nods, "This valley, what are the dangers in it? Is there anything else to be accomplished there?"

[Anastasia]

"Many," Strength of Light says, "In this case, not knowing is much of the trial."

[Iron Dragoon]

"Is there a time limit?"

[Anastasia]

"None," Strength of Light says, "Take as long as you need."

[Iron Dragoon]

Alyssa nods. "Is there anything else you think we should know?"

[Anastasia]

"If you die, you'll be reborn with the dawn. It's the nature of Ysgard," Strength of Light explains, "Be brave, be courageous, be wise. You're stronger than almost all who attempt these and I've chosen a formidable testing ground I rarely employ. Live up to it."

[Iron Dragoon]

"Thanks for that," Alyssa responds wryly.

"I guess we're ready to go. Dolmaya, any questions?"

[Anastasia]

Dolmaya smiles tightly. "None," she says, "It's a challenge to overcome, nothing more and nothing less. We have what we have and will triumph."

Ahead - you're in the mountains now, when did that happen? - is a cavern. Strength of Light leads yo uin, just tall enough for him and he ducks his head slightly. Within is a green portal, "That'll take you in, one way. It'll also relieve you of everything on yourself, it'll stay here and be returned when you're done."

"Now, most who come away with an item of power from this do so by making something with their own hands or claiming something powerful," Strength of Light goes on, "Bear that in mind.

[Iron Dragoon]

Alyssa nods, "My situation is a little different, perhaps. I need something Latha can use to make into a specific item for the test, so I'll be looking for a material."

[Anastasia]

"Perhaps. Make things as you go with your hands and effort," Strength of Light urges, "It's worked well. That white dress Antenora wears with her armor, have you seen it? It began as something she made on such a trial."

[Iron Dragoon]

"Quite the motivation. Let's get to it, then."
