This is a fairly typical valley in design - a river, lots of river rocks deposited, and teh general shape of it is right.

The spiky/smooth rocks themselves are completely unnatural. Those simply aren't made like that. It could be they're artificial or there's magical/abnormal processes here.

"Those rocks aren't natural. Not at all."

Alyssa grabs one, looking for one that's sharp enough to be used as a tool as they head deeper into the valley.

Is my new sense telling me anything about which direction to head?

[Anastasia]

You aren't lost right now, just out in the open. Not getting lost is what it does, so logically you need to find a path and follow it.

It's easy enough to get a sharp rock that should work as an impromptu instrument.

Alyssa heads in, cycling her Prying Eyes to get a better idea of where they are and what's around them.

Around you is empty valley - but you notice something. When your gazes aren't on them, some of the sharp stones move, scurrying along close towards you.

Alyssa moves closer to Dolmaya and whispers, "My spell has spotted some of the stones moving towards us."

Any K to figure out what they are?

"Then we know we aren't alone," Dolmaya retorts, "Best to respond strongly enough that they do not attempt to overwhelm us."

Your best guess is tiny earth elementals - elementites. They're larval forms of normal elementals in essence, normally part of a greater swarm.

[Iron Dragoon]

"My best guess is they're elementites. If they are, then perhaps we can simply scare them away."

Would they have intelligence? I can speak Terran.

[Anastasia]

You recall they do not - they're pretty dim in this stage.

Do I know enough about them to be able to scare them off?
