These are pure lightning. Something to ground or short them out would do - perhaps water or something strong and metal and attached to solid ground.

A surge of raw agony. Your foot is pierced from bottom to top, a large claw sticking out of it. Lightning uselessly flows through it, at least your injury not made any worse. Beneath your platform is a small drake, barely your sz, but with huge claws.
