Did some deity just cast true seeing on all the slaad and tell them to look up at her and her companions? It feels like that's a thing that just happened.

[Anastasia]

The slaad all look up and about, peering up at the skies.

'Ssendam,' Sulia notes in the depths of your mind, 'I've heard his voice before.'

[Ebiris]

She nods to Sulia and seeing that none of the slaad are focusing directly on her she glances up as well just in case there's something further up that's meant to be attracting attention.

[Anastasia]

Far above you see it - a great golden, amoeba-like thing. It is one great glob of ectoplasm, a human brain seen within it, free floating. Dozens of tendrils extend out from it, some only a few feet while others dangle hundreds of feet long, and others yet twist and curl around themselves even longer. In those curled tendrils symbols are glimpsed, ever changing.

Is that a known avatar form of Ssendam or something I might recognise or is it just weird unknowable chaos shit?

[Anastasia]

Your K:P lets you know that's a form of Ssendam.

One of many, because chaos and slaad.

'And there he is, up there,' Alicia points him out for Sulia and Queen.

Does it look like he sees them?

[Anastasia]

Sense Motive I suppose. It's legitimately hard to tell with such an unusual body.

You think he is.

"Ssendam," Sulia includes her head as Queen readies her blade.

You will join the great river.

Alicia dismisses the invisibility sphere. She doesn't want to fight Ssendam over this, she knows that she's an interloper and has no special right to the Spawning Stone, that means she's willing to play nice.

Making her voice heard only by the divine she replies. Very well. We mean no harm but it would ill serve any slaad to interfere with our passage there.

[Anastasia]

We only ask for you to allow us to finish our quest.

Queen merely stands at the ready, a glance below. Below all the slaad look about, more and more focused on Ssendam. A chitter of noises and words follows below as meanwhile the Slaad Lord responds.

Turn away or join the river.

[Ebiris]

We join.

"Stay close with me ladies," Alicia asks, making herself larger as she descends down to the river, able to use her titanic proportions to wade through the slaad and clear a path for Queen and Sulia.

[Anastasia]

In an instant you stand in the river. The river is vast as the two stay close to you and they come. White and black slaad, dozens. You're surrounded as... - !

Suffice to say you're in for a bit of a tussle. Init is good.
