The sphere stops moving as you approach and hovers there.

Sylvie glances at it and is silent, but then you hear her.

Hello? Is anyone in there?
<Afina> Imagine a tiny pixie boot stamping on a devil's face.
<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Nephrite

"Did you by any chance get a math problem as an answer?" He asks, as he studies the sphere.

Arcane Sight, Spellcraft for 113, K:A for 118.

Anastasia

It's a prismatic sphere as you might expect.

"Yes," Sylvie says aloud. Then to all she adds.

8.

Nephrite

"That's BLUE, then... I think." Moore says.

He just waits to see what happens!

As per the spell, yeah? Can I sense anything within the sphere?

Anastasia

What what senses? I need to know since prismatics stop a ton of things.

Nephrite

Really, just magic. If He'd know that a prismatic sphere just stops magic (which it looks to do from the description) then he'd just try and see if he can identify the caster.

"Making any progress?" Moore asks. He gestures at the sphere. "The one you're talking to is the one who managed to cast this."

Anastasia

"We're talking in mathematics," Sylvie replies, "Advanced ones. It's too bad we don't have an Inevitable here, they're the best at them." Her focus is on the sphere, "You made the right choice to bring me."

"Are we insufficient for this task?" Cresiel asks coolly.

"Which one of us is the transcendent genius?" Sylvie asks Cresiel right back, a glance his way, arms crossed under her bosom.

No checks since Sylvie can't fail them.

"I was a little lost when I got the original question back." Moore says. "I didn't spend a lot of time trying to figure it out, though. I'm sure we could've, but it makes more sense to have an expert handle it."

He looks around at all the empty space. "I wonder how long it's been here, and why it's here at all."

Anastasia

"Not sure - hold on," Sylvie says, "The sphere's going to come down!"

Nephrite

Moore will float back to give them some space!

Anastasia

The sphere falls and within is...a blob of bluish-violet goop. It hovers perfectly in air, unmoving. The size of it seems to vary routinely and often, from the size of a small ball to the size of a few Hannas.

"Um..." Moore hesitates a moment. "Hello."

He looks over at Sylvie. "Can it understand things that aren't math?" He asks.

Anastasia

Yes, I can.

"Yes, it can," Sylvie confirms.
