Synic is the name of an ancient warrior. It's said he was a blazing shadow of speed and sound that shattered any close to him, but the details are lost to the long ages. It's said he vanished in an ancient war in Acheron to seal away some sort of vast wyrm.

Aphrodos you don't draw anything on - whatever or whomever it is, it must be of no planar relevance.

Synic's Dispel Shield counters any dispel cast on it and heals the caster with the energy of the countered spell.
Heroism of Ashes is a 10th level spell in the Spell Collection, go check it out there. It has a table and doesn't paste well. Short version: Creatures you kill become ash para elementals until the end of the spell.
War Benediction is a powerful spell that vastly increases a warrior's combat ability, used by certain war sects such as Tempus, though it is not kept to any one sect.
Synic's Body Armor prevents the loss of body parts as well as greatly increases the target's natural armor.
Synic's Revenge inflicts massive damage to the caster of any dispel cast on the target. It's single shot, at least.
Explosive Aeration causes massive sonic, fire and just plain damage to any creature you move past, with more damage depending on how fast you are.
Blood Blade causes extra bleeding damage with melee attacks.
Blood Riot causes any bleeding wounds to intensify in damage.
Synic's Blessing grants a great bonus to movement speed and eliminates attacks of opportunity when you move, but it requires a unique item as a focus.
Mantle of Aphrodos protects against ability damage, ability drain, mind-affecting, dazed and stunned.
Warlord's Insight enhances combat ability with great insight to your opponents.
All-Death Blade increases the damage your weapon deals greatly - rather like Titan's Surge, same idea, just a different and possibly older method of doing it.

So, would I know that if I used something like Rain of Desolation, would the Dispel Shield counter it, or not since it's not technically a dispel that is cast on the subject?

Second question, for a spell like Spell Theft, where I can pick which spells to dispel, does that spell not function?

Yes, dispel shield would catch it.

Spell Theft might be able to get around it like that, yes.

"I don't know why you're trying to challenge us, Synic, but if it's a fight you want so badly, then we'll give it to you!" Moore shouts.

He has a spell on him that will counter any dispel attempts, I might suggest someone just risk it to get rid of it so we can get these spell off of him. Don't bother with acid, cold or sonic attacks, he's protected! His magic is pretty strong, so don't waste your time unless you've got a strong dispel! I don't think my magic can quite do it, so I'm just going to bolster everyone!

Standard Action: Greater Snowsong: Allies gain +8 morale bonus to Charisma and attack rolls, and a +8 insight bonus to Armor Class. All melee attacks made by allies in the snowsong deal an additional 2d6 points of cold damage.

Everyone also gains Fast Healing 11, DR 11/-, and are immune to fear and symbol of hopelessness.

Unfortunately, Moore's max dispel check is +30, so he'd have to hit a 51 (so a 20) to dispel any of these things.
