Rodents + damage to dishwasher + replacing garage door with something they can't get through + clearing out custom work last owner did that prevents a reasonable garage door + sealing spots they can get in around the property.

Hey at least I had been meaning to replace that garage door for years.  But yeah ouch.

Anyhow, the *shake fist* of the moment is the current distortions in politics.  Even touching base with very old family members, none of them can recall seeing something like it in their lifetimes.  I'm honestly hoping the next six months goes without vast violence and civil unrest.  Folks with differing views on values in the country have kind of moved through reading different opinions, to different facts, to tribal beliefs in The Enemy where crime largely is defined as 'whatever those who don't believe like me do' versus 'this is what I believe is right and wrong', whether it's different from where you stand or not.  There's regular 'we cannot possibly have legitimate elections' in the US of all places coming not from fringe crazies but from direct messages from our executive branch and long tenured news outlets.  It's honestly giving me trouble recognizing where I'm living anymore for all that it's phenomenially easy to just turtle at home with isolation instead.  It saddens me terribly seeing the sheer tolerance for treating our neighbors as enemies or fools, whichever way one stands.
