What lies ahead is a vast gray expanse. Nothing is ahead and yet? You feel its pull, you feel an attraction. Artificial and wrong to your divine senses, but an urge to come in. That this place awaits you, that something greater awaits you within.

It watches you.

Every moment you stare at this expanse you see it begin to form. A stone pillar, vast and deep, with a platform on it large enough for hundreds to stand on. In the dead center, in a recess, is a stairway that leads into the pillar itself.

Alyssa tries to assert her own will to ward off the urge and focuses her divine senses on the presence, letting it know she can perceive it as well.

[Anastasia]

That sense retreats back and away, gone in moments.

"Impressive, whatever it is," Bastian says slowly, "You got any ideas?"

[Iron Dragoon]

"Not yet. I chased off whatever was watching us, though. Let's go look at this pillar."

Alyssa moves to inspect it and figure out what's going on here.

What sort of checks are you angling to make here?

Uh, I guess Spellcraft and Knowledge using Greater Arcane Sight, followed up by Legend Lore to round things out?

The pillar itself is thickly warded with various protections, as well as being thick enough to prevent you from seeing what magic lies within. It's all standard things - anti scrying, anti teleportation and so on.
