Alyssa nods, "I suspect he'll ask me to keep quiet, but yes, I'll ask. Aside from that, it seems like everyone is in favor of trading spells with Bahamut. I'll visit Io and let you all know."

Alyssa heads out to do so!

[Anastasia]

Bastian blinks over to you, space parted before him in an instant. "I'll go with you," he invites himself. "Seems better to take a journey than to stay here."

[Iron Dragoon]

Alyssa nods and they head out to visit Io!

[Anastasia]

You soon arrive and go up. Io awaits you, massive and looming above the two of you.

'Welcome, Alyssa,' The great wyrm whispers in your mind.

[Iron Dragoon]

Alyssa bows, but responds cheerfully, "Hello! How have you been, Lord Io?"

[Anastasia]

'I endure eternity as I always do and I prepare,' Io responds, 'For the great reckoning that draws ever closer.'

[Iron Dragoon]

"Well, anything I can do to help you, please let me know. But, on to business. I've been contacted by Bahamut. He wants to trade spells with me, and I hope to establish an alliance with him.

My question is, do you wish your presence to remain secret from him? I know knowledge of your presence is best kept secret so as to not tip Ao off, but considering who and what Bahamut is, I thought the opportunity to bring him into the fight might be worth considering."

[Anastasia]

'Do not speak of me to him, but I will handle that as it needs to be handled in time.' Io sends back to you. 'I have already begun that.'

[Iron Dragoon]

Alyssa nods, "Very well. You know him better than I; what could entice him into a full alliance?"

[Anastasia]

With an open hint of amusement, 'Bahamut is still a dragon. Think like a normal dragon, but on a far grander scale.'

[Iron Dragoon]

"So a treasure more radiant than any other, and power to stand above all others. Hmm... Treasure I'm short on, and I'm hardly the most powerful... But perhaps a promise of something regal... Maybe... A shot at one of Shar's holdings as a lair?"

[Anastasia]

Bastian chuckles, "The right idea. Dragons are rather like cats, s-"

Bastian is cut off. One of Io's claws moves, enough to make the air split and scream.

Bastian looks up and up and up, "Don't like that comparison?" he asks mildly, "The point is you're on the right track. Dragons want tribute, they want power, they want treasure. Bahamut's great by dragon standards and does great things, but he's still a dragon."

[Iron Dragoon]

"Mmmm... Perhaps... Does he have the affinity to learn the Words of Creation?"

[Anastasia]

'I would be stunned if he does not know as much as great celestials of it,' Io states, 'But many speak the Words of Creation in Celestia without approaching anything close to the true power of them.'

[Iron Dragoon]

"My mastery of them is tenuous at best. I was hoping to offer to help him start with them, but if it's likely he already knows them... Perhaps I can offer a unique way to use them. I use them in my smithing... I wonder what the result would be if I used them along with magic and a dragon's power to create something for him... It would be something unique, at the very least."
