Alyssa raises an eyebrow, "I'm surprised to hear you suggest that. There will be a price for it. Are you prepared for that?"

"I hate it," Emily says with open sourness, "I advise against it. But," She holds a finger up, "If the thought crosses your mind, you may do it without me being around. At least I can moderate you."

Alyssa raises her eyebrow, "That doesn't address the cost, little Ms. Idea."

[Anastasia]

"Why do you think I advise against it?" Emily answers right back, "Asmodeus is most likely to be effective, but he'll get his price and I have no confidence he won't get what he wants out of the exchange. I've seen a few examples of his work now and I won't pretend I can keep up." This gets Emily to slowly shaker her head before, "Perhaps Gathgorian and Bel can be mitigated better."

"Let's see what research turns up. Surely there's someone who's beaten it before."

[Anastasia]

"If you want to give it another try," Emily agrees, "Shall we?"

Alyssa nods.

[Anastasia]

What's your plan for this then? You can't just retry Knowledge checks unless something changes.

Look for someone who's fought him multiple times.

[Anastasia]

Give me K:A, I suppose.

Just to be clear you mean Rathguul, right?

Yeah.

No one's ever faced him multiple times and survived that you can find. A few made it a rematch but the second time didn't go well for them at all.

Part of this is the fact that Gargauth is a bit obscure, so that's not helping at all, either.

"Of course," Emily goes on thoughtfully, "It's not like death stops our magic from contacting spirits."

Alyssa nods, "That's sort of the line I was thinking. If we could find one of these spirits that fought them and use my memory spell on them, then we could watch the fight as many times as we need to in order to examine the magic and abilities."

[Anastasia]

"We should be able to find someone," Emily says, "Though his skills may have improved since then or they didn't see all of his tricks. I wouldn't put it past him to save some for serious opponents - best that we find strong ones."

[Iron Dragoon]

Alyssa nods, "We all have trump cards and hidden tricks. But if we show up prepared for his normal tactics and can pressure him from the start, it may put him off balance."
