I have a dream that one day, men will be punched in the face not for the color of their skin, but for the awful content of their character.

No luck on the pink ioun stone, the amulet of health or even the mighty fists. The story you get is the same - nobles and the rich are splashing out for supplies for the war, and often war tax is taken by the crown in the form of useful magical items. Con boosters and melee boosters are two extremely popular options there, unfortunately.

Likewise no luck on the factotum stuff, specialized gear and you just didn't get lucky.

There is a diplomacy booster you come on. Two, even if one isn't strictly aimed at Diplomacy.

Allogor Ring

A small sapphire ring with a twisted tree motif, said to have been forged in a distant land known as the Gorgelands. It grants the wearer a +5 competence bonus to Diplomacy. Additionally, the ring unlocks its true power in the hands of rangers, druids or any character who has the wild empathy ability. This requires a set number of levels in the class that grants wild empathy, or racial hit dice if the ability is innate.

3 levels: The bonus to Diplomacy also applies to wild empathy.
6 levels: The bonus to Diplomacy increases to +7.
9 levels: The wearer can cast calm animals once per day as a spell-like ability (caster level 5th.)
12 levels: The bonus to Diplomacy increases to +10.
15 levels: The wearer's type counts as animal when more beneficial than their innate type. For example, a charm person spell cast on a human wearer would fail, because it considers them an animal and not a humanoid. Likewise, an animal bane weapon would not inflict damage on the same wearer, because it would consider them a humanoid.

The price of this item is 29,000 gold.

Circlet of Persuasion

As the SRD. 5,000 gold. Skaya has the skill ranks to know it's marked up somewhat, as the typical price for one is around 4,500 gold.
<Afina> Imagine a tiny pixie boot stamping on a devil's face.
<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Corwin

Isn't a +5 skill item normally 2,500gp and not 4,500gp? Ie cloak of elvenkind and the like?
<Steph> I might have made a terrible mistake

Anastasia

Yes, but the ring isn't a standard one and the circlet isn't a +5 booster, but a different item with its own price in the SRD.

Corwin

Right, my bad. Neither item really hits what I want.

Sanda has 1000.46 gold and will save up.

Anne isn't here so no purchases.

Rina attempts to negotiate and take the plot hook since it's notably a bit overpriced.

> roll 1d20+11
<Kobot> Kotono rolled 1d20+11 --> [ 1d20=14 ]{25}

It turns out that the seller needs the money, times are tight and he's trying to get as much as possible since the Crown took a few choice pieces as tax/war support. Fine, Rina accepts it and pays the 5k, it's only 500 more so not worth going that hard to the mat over. She can relate to be done wrong by them.
