Figment

As he moved, he heard the latch open.  Light fell on him as he exited the area.  He heard the grate open as he raced down the corridor.

Figment

Not stopping, Devon continued down the tunnel, heading for the grate in the woods and making note of the blocked off paths on his way back.

Figment

Retracing his path, Devon made it safely to the grate in the woods.

Figment

Pulling himself out of the sewers, Devon carefully closed the grate.

Moving around the area, Devon carefully obscured the traces of his passing before heading off to the east, using every trick he knew to avoid leaving a trackable trail.

Figment

Doing a excellent, job, it would take a tracker of exceptional skill to note Devon's passing.

He moved back towards town, encountering nothing until he approached the river.  Peering across, he couldn't see a sole moving around town.

Figment

'Well, I might as well change back now.'

A quiet transformation quickly overtook Devon once more, his skin turning pale, and his crimson of his eyes fading to be replaced with a brilliant emerald green.

Letting out a small sigh as the world once more became shrouded in darkness and his shoulders slumped slightly as if from the weight of the world, Devon looked down at his gloved hands. 'I hate this weak form.... if only...'

Shaking his head, Devon broke off that train of thought and ghosted his way through the sleeping city towards Arkanel's home.

Figment

Making his way quickly and silently through the sleepy streets, he arrived at his destination.

Figment

Walking around behind the house, Devon pulled out his sleeping gear and settled into the same place he had slept earlier.

'If word ever got back to her that I was still alive...' his thought trailed off as he slipped into Morpheus' grip.

The adventurers fell into a deep relaxing sleep.  Three men slumbered in the basement of a strange house, while two enjoyed the fresh air and the stars.

Dawn came, and the smells cooking food wafted to all.  They were awakened by the ringing of a small bell.  Eyes opening, Devon and O'karn woke to the sight of Clara tinkling her silver chime.  They each saw the sun newly risen in the east.

Jeremiah, Daggedal, and Remdos all rose to a similar sound, as the looked to the stairs and saw the nameless other servant of their host timidly performing their wake up call.

"Breakfast is served," both called in different places, and waited to lead their charges to their food.

Trunkyboy

Rackham looked at the hides, and grunted with satisfaction.  He then proceeded to take the pitons out and put them back in this backpack.  After rolling up the hides, he went around putting everything away, in preparation to move quickly once Nirae were rested.  He settled down next to Nirae to wait.
riss and I against the world!

Rackham and Nirae get no breaks...

Why, oh why wasn't I born rich?

Dracos

O'karn grunted, swiftly rising to his feet.  Nodding to the cookslave he moved to follow her.

Well, Goodbye.

The sun in the west was being greeted by the horizon. Strands of light seemed to reach up from ground, attaching themselves to the weary star and appearing to pull them down.

Nirae felt refreshed, and ready to take on the world, while Rakhan was zoning out, thinking of the fine wolf coat he could have made, and the necklace, that would place fear and revulsion into those he met.

Clara nodded to the O'karn, and led the two men  onto the back porch and then through a doorway that led directly into the dining room.  She stood there as O'karn passed and she waited for Devon as he followed.

Downstairs, the three men, gathered there things and followed the boy, backtracking the path through the house they had come down into.

Both parties entered the room about the same time.  The tables was was set for eight people, with Arkanel sitting paitently at the head.  The meat of the morning was goose, with an entire one set out at two different seats.  Rolls, jams, eggs (both hard boiled and scambled) and a multitude of fruits was set upon the table.

When they entered, and sat at the table, Arkanel spoke. "We seem to be missing two of your number.  Along with the other two from the entry point.  I set places in case, while I sent some people to look for your colleagues.  If you have any ideas where they might have gone, let me know, though, I will dismiss them or send them after you if you choose to go on ahead.  I can't image people who can't make it to a simple house to be reliable enough to wait on.  Though, they might have gone on ahead to complete the task I have set you.  And Daggedal, I sent for the armour you had commisioned.  It should be here in a few minutes."

As if on cue, the smith Daggedal had spoken with the prior evening entered the room.  He carried a small sack and walked up to Daggedal.  He opened the sack, and showed Daggedal the breastplate, shoulder guards, and helm he had contracted.  The shoulder plates and breastplate were of iron, while the helm was steel.  They fit well and though the craftmanship could use a little work, they were more than adequate.   Testing out a few motions, Daggedal could tell that they didn't constrict his movements more than could be expected, and a few taps told him it would do the job.

"I'll see to your fee later.  Thank you for coming," Arkanel said.

"Smells good," Remdos said as he took a whiff of the food. The pangs of hunger were hitting him now full force, a result of his lack of eating anything the day before. Grabbing a roll, he bit into it, slowly chewing so as to savor the taste.
<Cidward> God willing, we'll all meet in Buttquest 2: The Quest for More Butts.

Priss

Nirae grinned at the renewed sense of well-being as she stretched.

"Ready to move on when you are, Rackham."

As she waited for his reply, she gazed around at their surroundings.
