Omake Chapter 1-B: Kagome and Shippo.

[Ginnezumusha]

"Hey!  I'm not exactly great at these things, especially when I wake up as SHIPPO, and find out one of the people I know from the INTERNET is stuck here with me!  I'd like to you see you think that much faster!"

Ginn crossed his arms.

"So, I suppose you have a BETTER idea, Ms. Thinks-oh-so-fast?"

[calendar]

Calendar eeped.  And then made weird noises of outrage and shock.  "I-ah, well--AH!  Shut up, you."  She glared at him sulkily.  "Honestly, though... let me handle it.  There are two ways I can imagine to deal with the situation.  The first approach is to tell him that it's a 'girl thing,' and then if he argues, fight and say OSUWARI a lot.  Eventually, I'll get my way.  That's the classic Kagome approach.

"The OTHER approach is something Kagome wouldn't do, and I probably wouldn't do it either, but... flirt with him until he's good and confused, then go back to Kaede's while he's stunned.  I may not be Kagome, but this is her body, and he likes it."  She smiled brightly, then added thoughtfully, "and Kagome herself, too."

She looked at Ginn seriously.  "Either way, that should get us to Kaede's, and we can talk to her.  She's the only one I can think of who would be able to help, aside from Miroku, but he doesn't seem too willing to help us..."

[Ginnezumusha]

"Sounds like a plan, now lets see it in action."

Ginn started walking back towards the group.

[calendar]

Calendar nodded and followed Shippo back.  "Guess so..."

[Bean Bandit]

Inu-Yasha, and Sango watched the returning pair, hoping that Kagome had managed to answer the child's questions suffienciently.

Miroku, however, was actively curious. He leaned forward to ask a question, but Sango's reflexes were equal to the task. She clapped a hand over Miroku's mouth, and looked to Inu-Yasha, who shrugged irritatedly.

They both looked to the pair, and waited for them to speak...

[calendar]

Calendar smiled at Inuyasha cheerfully.  "I need to back to see Kaede about something private.  Girl stuff."

Internally, she waited with bated breath... would it work?

[Bean Bandit]

Inu-Yasha twitched. "...After eight days of travel, you want to turn around and go back???" he growled. He pointed at Sango. "Get her to help you!"

The Taiji-ya blinked. "Me?"

[Ginnezumusha]

Ginn wisely kept his mouth shut.

[calendar]

Inwardly, Calendar sighed.  She should have expected that... but outwardly, she scowled.  "It's not something Sango can help with... I need to see Kaede."

[Bean Bandit]

Sango blinked and raised her eyebrows, obviously curious, but she didn't say anything, simply clamped her hand tighter over Miroku's mouth, and watched Inu-Yasha's reaction.

Inu-Yasha made a disbelieving snort. "Kaede-baba? That old hag doesn't-"

"Ano...Inu-Yasha." Sango interjected. "Kagome-sama wouldn't be asking if it wasn't important, ne?" she pointed out reasonably. "If she really is ill, we could be delayed longer than eight days..."

THAT stopped Inu-Yasha cold, and he looked to Kagome.

[calendar]

Kagome coughed hard suddenly, trying to cover her laughter.  "Er... yes."

She tried very hard to look weak and tired.

[Bean Bandit]

Inu-Yasha looked stunned for a minute, and and unreadable expression crossed his face, and he growled. "Teme...Alright, FINE. We'll go back."

He stalked away, mutting under his breath. Sango smiled briefly at the departing hanyou. She then turned back to Kagome and gave her a searching look, easily read. The unmistakable message was: 'I covered for you, and I expect you to tell me later what this is all about..."

The Taiji-ya then smiled at the two of them, and wandered off to pack up her possessions, dragging Miroku along...

[Ginnezumusha]

"Yay!  We're going to go see the old grandma!"

Ginn runs around.

[calendar]

Calendar sighed in relief, and then looked at Shippo oddly.  She grabbed him and followed after the others.

"What... was that about?"

[Ginnezumusha]

"I haven't been a kid in 8 years, cut me some slack."

Ginn rasberries at Cal, and flees towards the rest of the group.
