The Slayers Quest

His search seems to remain as boring as the one upstairs until he encounters the first sign on life in the mansion he'd seen.

Hiding in a corner is a quivering mass of a man with his head down and a small dagger held between his fingers in front of himself. Raising his head at the sound of the chimera's stony approach, he shouts, "Stay back!"

As Zelgadis looks at the man expressionlessly, the man begins to fumble and get up over his robes, he almost waddles to Zelgadis, and stabs the dagger into his body. A clang is heard as Zel doesn't even bother to dodge and the man pulls back a broken dagger.

"EEEP!" he cries before falling to the ground and begin to beg. "Don'thurtmedon'thurtmed...!!!"

"Ralcyon, I presume." Without any hesitation, Zelgadis grabs him by the tunic and slams him up against the wall. "Where are you hiding Mr. Ashford!"

Ralcyon groans in pain as he's slammed into the wall. He looks unnerved by the inhuman stranger's tone more than his action. His chilling, yet expressionless look remaining as he orders him to give up the location of the cook. Loras was much like that until he got in that bloodlust of his and then he just wanted to bite your head off....

"He's in the basement!" he says with a nervous smile. Surely Loras could take care of this thing!

"Excellent. You're coming with me." Zelgadis slams the man forward toward the basement. "If you run, it will be the last thing you will ever do."

As they enter the basement, they find traces of a battle, including some blackened stone, and damaged stairs. Walking forward as their eyes adjust, they find a broken cell and a sword against the ground. It would seem to both of them that Ashford has already been rescued.

"Seems like someone already had all the fun." Knowing it was either Lina, Gourry, or Amelia, Zelgadis decides to go to the most logical place. The kitchen.

"Take me to the kitchen. Now." Zelgadis stares humorlessly at Ralcyon.

Ralcyon sputters confused and amazed that someone took out Loras as Zel begins to drag him back upstairs. A few slaps later, Ralcyon leads him towards the kitchen, only to freeze as they enter the dining hall. "MY DINING HALL!!!!" he screeches before Zel pushes him off to the side and stares at the group eating vigorously.

Gourry looks up at the new arrivals. "Hey, Zel! You have to try some of this, it was definitely worth the wait!" he waves over to the Chimera before resuming his feast.

Amelia stabs some dragon meat just ahead of Gourry, devouring it hungrily.

Zelgadis smiles jovially. "Lina, I brought a guest. Let me introduce Mr. Ralcyon, who had the unfortunate distinction to kidnap Chef Ashford and steal the dragon cuisine for himself. Why don't you have a seat, Mr. Ralcyon."

Zelgadis then sits down at a empty seat and proceeds to sample the heavenly dragon cuisine.

Gourry, feeling much more mellow now that he has some Dragon Cuisine in his belly, waves a fork filled with Dragon Salad reprovingly at Ralcyon. "Hey, I can understand that you really wanted Dragon Cuisine, this is pretty good stuff. But we killed that Dragon fair and square! You should kill your own Dragon if you want to eat it!"

Satisfied with chastising the Dragon Cuisine thief, he then resumes eating.

"It takes six months to cook that meat!" Ralcyon cried at Gourry's accusation. "When I smelled it getting cooked, I just couldn't wait. It just looked so divine!"

At that, Ashford comes in with the next tray of food, "Alright, on to the first part of the main course!"

With that, he sets the table, and begins to reveal dishes of Sukiyaki with marbled Dragon Meat, Shabu Shabu, and Thin slices of dragon meat over a plate of rice bathed in the meat's juices.

As Ashford leaves, and the aroma begins to get to Ralcyon, he stretches his arm forward as he begins to crawl towards them, a bit of drool escaping his mouth. "Please...share some more..."

Gourry nods sympathetically as Ralcyon relates his tale of not being able to wait, but doesn't speak since his mouth is currently occupied.

Then his eyes light up at the arrival of the main course, and the swordsmand commences eating with even more gusto, determined to enjoy every last morsel of the exquisite Dragon Cuisine!

Sharing with Ralcyon is not on the agenda, however, and he growls menacingly as the fat nobleman approaches the hard won Dragon Cuisine.

Amelia ignores the request, digging into the shaba shaba with gusto.

"So(munch) gooooood(gulp)!"

Zelgadis's eyes light up at the main course when he hears Ralcyon beg for some. Deciding to remind the man who was in charge, Zelgadis lets loose a quick Flare Arrow. "Consider this a small reminder."

Zelgadis then digs into the sukiyaki with marbled dragon meat, while sampling the dragon shaba shaba... Sublime...
