Ami rolls her eyes. "Yes, Cecilia, I'll take care of myself. No, I won't give Filia any trouble. Tell Mother and Father that I miss them, and that I hope to come home very soon.  And don't worry about me, I'll be fine here." With that she lets the connection close. At least I hope so.

As she checks the time, she realizes there are still several hours to go before the reception for the Earthlings. She decides to take the opportunity to get a better look at the place that seems likely to be her home for some time. She heads towards the blue-colored door, curious to see what sort of "utilities" have been provided for them.

Ami sees Rei emerging from a set of double doors, wearing only a towel. Rei spots the little princess a few moments later.

Ami flushes a beautiful shade of crimson and covers her mouth as she gasps. "Oh my... I'm so sorry, Princess Rei! I didn't realize you were using the baths..." She quickly turns away from the towel-clad girl to give her more privacy.

Rei giggles slightly at Ami's reaction, her mood a whole lot better after a relaxing bath. "Don't worry, Princess, don't they take communal baths on Mercury? Besides, I'm decent," she gestures to the large towel wrapped around her body which covers from above her breasts down to her calves.

"I must admit, I'm surprised the facilities are so nice. Since Genkai was the one who set this up..." she trails off, expecting anyone who has known the old ghoul for even as short a time as Ami has to understand her point.

Halbarad

Ami turns back at the older princess' words of reassurance. "Well, they DO have communal baths back home, but I've never attended one myself. At least on Mercury, it's generally frowned upon for children my age." Her mouth gives a slight twist of disgust at the admission.

"Is Genkai really that bad? She seems a bit... abrupt to me, but nice enough once you get past that. I mean, I was expecting to be crammed in wherever they could find room for me once I heard that the Earth delegation was on its way here. This is certainly better than trying to find a place to stay out in the city."

"Ah," Rei nods in understanding, "Well, I suppose I didn't go to communal baths much when I was your age, either. Though it was more a case of shyness on my part," she grins wickedly, "But I got over that as I got older."

"Genkai, though? She never used to bother me that much..." Rei says, adopting a more thoughtful tone as she walks about half the distance between her and Ami before leaning against the wall, "She's been my tutor for the past few years for most of my academic and magical subjects. I just thought she was a cranky, sarcastic, old woman. We insulted each other a lot, but nothing much ever came of it... even though I did ask to have her executed more times than I can count," she smiles slightly in remembrance, "But lately her duties have been expanded so she basically has free reign to do what she likes to me, and I've discovered that the old bitch can fight like you wouldn't believe." she shrugs philosophically, before concluding, "She's pretty much been lording it over me ever since."

Halbarad

Ami giggles. "That reminds me of my first programming tutor. The old grouch asked me to write a program that just put the words "Hello Mercury!" on the screen; I was so infuriated that he thought I was that stupid, I hacked into the palace database and had his living quarters relocated next to the scullery."

She grins at the memory. "Of course, he had me fix all the security holes in the system as a punishment, but I at least got him once. He was never foolish enough to let his guard down around me again though."

She smiles. "It seems strange to say it now, but I almost miss the old fellow; I absolutely hated him at the time though."

"Heh, that's more interesting than anything I ever tried with my old tutors. Although I don't really miss any of them. They were much easier to intimidate than Genkai, which was certainly convienient, but my parents never approved. They stopped hassling me about my studies after Genkai was able to remain in the job for over a month, though."

While the King and Queen of Mars were both wonderful people, whom Rei loved dearly, they were still her parents, and consequently afforded a great deal of respect.

"Anyway," she says, getting up from where she was leaning on the wall, "I'd best go dry my hair and get dressed. I'll see you in a little bit, Princess." Rei smiles as she walks past the younger Princess, heading towards the door.

Halbarad

"Of course, my apologies for holding you up." Ami nods to the princess as she heads back out into the main room.

Let's see... Rei came out of the double doors in a towel, so the baths must be through there. Those doors over there look like toilets-although I wonder why the one is labeled "Rika"? I suppose I'll have to take door number three then...

With that, Ami heads for the doorway leading into the kitchenette.

Makoto absentmindedly unpacks her things in her room, idly wondering where Eiko is. "Well, no matter," she says to herself. "I'll just make us something to eat in the kitchen, and we can all look at the book later." Setting the tome down on the center of her bed carefully, she wanders over to the kitchenette, wondering what she should make. I always think better in a kitchen, anyway.

Ami finds a very modern, is small, kitchen. It's in a sharp contrast to the conservative gym equipment back in the main room.

A slightly hurt expression appearing on her face at her casual dismissal by Makoto, Genkai finally leaves the room, boarding the elevator.

A few minutes later, Makoto leaves the leftmost room and sees Rei enter the gym from the opposite direction, clad only in a towel.

"Very nice," Ami smiles. "Actually, a snack might not be a bad idea."

With that the young princess starts to look through the refrigerator in search of something she can eat without having to cook.

Ami finds some fruits and vegetables kept frozen for preservation, but nothing else.

Rei waves to Makoto as she passes, her towel almost slipping, only just being caught before revealing anything indecent. Although Makoto had already seen the goods back at the library...

Entering the bedroom, Rei removes the towel from her head and grabs her hairdryer from one of her suitcases. Quickly drying her long, raven hair, Rei then proceeds with getting dressed and putting on some makeup.

Before long, she is once more looking at her best, now dressed in a many layered set of formal robes for state occasions (and also difficult for perverts to easily get past). While the robes might not show off her figure as she'd best like, she still thinks she looks pretty good in them. It takes her a few moments to find any gloves she owns which match the bejewelled one Genkai gave her, but she soon finds a white fingerless one which lends a pleasingly asymetrical look.

Noticing the Metallia book on the centre of one of the beds, Rei goes over and opens it to the contents page.
