Carthrat

Daggedal eyes the Diamond and the throne. "Perhaps I can commune with his dead spirit. It should not have yet departed to the nether realm."

With a few choice words and incantations, he tries to do just that..
[19:14] <Annerose> Aww, mouth not outpacing brain after all?
[19:14] <Candide> My brain caught up

Corwin

Miaka, still in shock after seeing all the carnage, nods dumbly as she waits for Daggedal to try his plan.
<Steph> I might have made a terrible mistake

Dracos

O'karn grunted in agreement.  "Any trouble, just scream.  I go hunting."

O'karn started looking around the castle for easy to carry valuable items.

Dracos
Well, Goodbye.

As Daggedal chants, those around notice a soft nimbus appear around the body of the dead man.  A separation is achieved from the corpse, it appears to keep its shape, moving until a translucent figure stands before the chanting man.

Daggedal's experience with dead allowed him to avoid the fear that lessor might have being in the presence before him.

"Why have you called me from my rest," a deep voice intones.

"To know what attacked your castle," replies Daggedal. "And what your intentions towards us were before we arrived."

"I was attacked by my people.  Those I sought to seperate myself from.  We were betrayed by one of our own, whom rmoved the crystal which protected us and would warn us of attack.  My intentions towards you were to get you to help in that seperation, through trickery or friendship.  I would ask for your help anyway.  To save place the crystal upon the dias and remove my daughter from the prison which I placed her for her safety."

The figure shimmered before stabilizing again.  "Someone of no consequence.  He was a guard, who came as a trainie from the continent.  I should have been more careful."  He bowed his head slightly.

"Why did he not take the crystal from the palace?" asks Daggedal.

'It's power is linked to this place, and this place has little value to them.  Desecrated it, and me, is more important to his mind."

O'karn discounted anything in the room of value.  He stalked out into the great hall, a stairwell leading up, the entraceway, and three sets of doors to either side.

Dracos

O'karn pondered most ponderously and with a ponderous gait headed up the stairs pondering treasure most pleasing.

Dracos
OOC: I tried, I really did, but I don't think I could've fit another ponder in there.
Well, Goodbye.

O’karn walked up the staircase, pondering the reduced carnage he surveyed as he climbed.  A large glass door presented itself to him.  Pondering the waterfall that fell from the cliff, into the pool below, he pondered pondering where the water would flow to, but decided pondering wouldn’t answer the question he never really wanted to ponder in the first place.

Looking out, he saw a plethora of bodies littering one side of the pond he had decided not to ponder and witnessed a few men move ponderously down a path in the ground, carrying chests and bags towards the mountain, and out of view.

ooc: ponder this!

Dracos

O'karn pondered but a moment, for pondering was not truly his way, and lacking any more ponderings, he leapt after them after lowering his skullmask.  For he was an ogre of action, blade in hand as he chased them men with a mighty warcry, lashing down at the first one with his blade.

Dracos
Well, Goodbye.

O’karn’s leap found him in almost the identical spot were Devon landed.  The un-commenting dirt path pondered the difference in pressure it was forced to endure between the two events.

Ignoring the imprint he made, the Ogre rushed forward, dropping down the stairs into the passageway the men he had seen disappear into.

His mighty shout did not go unnoticed and the four men were made aware of his approach. Unfortunately for them, they had not pondered correctly, and they stood unaware that the cry of battle was actually a mortal threat.  The speed in which the large humanoid appeared was impressive and added to their surprise.

O’karn felt enclosed in the passageway, which was clearly designed to hand more than a single human, but not really made for an Ogre.  He was heedless of this fact as he pondered the chest the two closest men were lugging.  A small smirk of satisfaction sated his bloodlust like a minnow would fill a whale when the closest man let out an inarticulate gasp as his head sailed across the room into one of his companions, blood spraying everywhere.

If he was more than an Ogre, and could ponder the facets of life and battle, his podering would result in the realization that a time for pondering was done.
