OOC: Can I kill by ponderings?

O'karn pondered the ever so sweet scent of blood as the crimson spray spewed forth from the severed neck of the scrawny human before him.  Ah, this was the life!  His long tongue lashed out licking the front of his skull mask as he looked briefly over the remaining humans, pondering who would be next.  With a swift gesture he decided, his sword moving at one on his left, while his other black gauntleted hand lashed out grabbing for the skull of another, his barbaric strength seeking to crush the foolish human's brains and prevent any further ponderings as to it's fate.

[Carthrat]

"So where's this dias?" says Daggedal. "And what'll happen when I place the crystal on it, exactly?"

[kpjam]

The spectre turns to regard the throne.  "There is a place for the diamond atop the throne.  Returning the jewel to its resting place will release the spell that holds my daughter.  It will also return defensiive and utility functions to the castle."

When he finished speaking, a faint yell could be heard, a sound that sounded suspisciously like O'karn.

[kpjam]

O'karn's mighty blade slid through another hapless victim as he grabbed for a third.  The man was not as stupid as to be caught that easily, and much to the Ogre's annoyance, he managed to contort himself away from the harbringer of blood.

A step behind his partner, his assigned task forgotten, the puny servant man ran for his life.

[Carthrat]

"What's the name of your daughter?" asks Daggedal.

[kpjam]

"Lafiel," he says quietly.  "I secured her from immediate harm, using the power of this place.   I fear her actions were she to be released, but hopefully, your presence will increase her chance of survival.  Will you release her?  I doubt that a mere shade could offer anything to ask that you attempt to protect her, but ask I shall.  Will you protect my most precious daughter?"

[Carthrat]

"Mebbe," replies Daggedal. "We'll see."

He reaches out and plucks the diamond out from the corpses mouth..

[kpjam]

The diamond comes out with an audible slurp....

[Carthrat]

Daggedal wipes off the blood, the plants the diamond in the dias..

[kpjam]

A shiver courses Daggedal's body as the dimaond is placed upon the dias.   A few moments pass before an ear shattering shriek is heard.

"Father!!"  

The inhabitants of the room turn to see Lafiel scrambling to her feet, kicking away from another man as she rushes to the throne.  She drops to her knees as her body shudders in grief.  An inaudible mumbling is heard coming from her as she draps herself over the dead body.

Belatedly, Daggedal notices the shade is no longer present.

[Carthrat]

Maybe the ones who suffered the most from a war weren't the dead, but the ones left living afterwards.

Still, it didn't affect Daggedal overmuch, as he plucked and pocketed the diamond for himself..

Arael looks at Daggedal in disgust as he pockets the diamond.

Her eyes soften a bit when her gaze turns toward the drying girl. Not exactly sure what to do now and feeling more than a bit lost Arael looks around the room.

"What now?"

[kpjam]

Areal sees the room is basically unchanged.  The man that appeared with Lafiel is stnading in the corner, unmoving, a look of extreme sadness upon his face.

[Figment]

Hearing the yell, Devon drew his sword before pausing as he watched Daggedal release Lafiel.

Seeing that Lafiel wasn't likely to be able to answer questions for a while, he bounded up the stairs after O'karn.

Devon made his way to the balcony he had been on 24 hours earlier.  He noticed the bodies littering the walkway and stairs leading downwards.

The waterfall was as it had been earlier, but he sees no sign of O'karn.
