Carth's magical adventure, ROUND TWO, MOTHERFUCKERS!

[Carthrat]

Carthrat gapes at the undeniable beauty of the scene, fighting off an unsettling feeling in the pit of his stomach.

Is this the unsettling feeling Rachel spoke of? This.. despair?

Carthrat shakes off the feeling, getting back to the task at hand. But he can't fight off the knowledge that he's in deep on several fronts.. on a physical, mental, and spiritual basis.

[Anastasia]

Gathering the cores is simple enough, as the guards aren't here to argue possession. Tossing a goodly mess of them takes a few minutes, which is eerily silent...

[Carthrat]

Carthrat pauses. The Psion might not even be there.. it doesn't matter.

Carthrat pockets another couple of cores, stands a good distance away from the control room, and blasts the makeshit bomb..

[Anastasia]

The walls shake as superhot plasma bursts obliterate the wall and doorway, leaving a gaping, huge hole of jagged metal.

Inside, you can see the clothing of the old man, but nothing else. Just like the guards.

[Carthrat]

Carthrat glances at the remnants of the psion, shaking his head.

Shaken and even scared (a rare occurence), Carthrat makes his way back to where Tir and Rachel are..

[Anastasia]

As you head over to the third shuttle, the door opens, Rachel backing out and falling backwards out. Her face is a mask of stark shock and fear, at something inside..

"CARTHRAT," she screams when she sees you, scrambling up and over to you. "He's a monster! A demon!"

[Carthrat]

"Calm down, Rachel!" says Carthrat, quickly, putting her hands on Rachel's shoulders. "What do you mean, he's a demon?"

[Anastasia]

"He took their souls!" she rambles, shaken to her very core. "Just like that, taken and eaten!" Her eyes are wide and watery....she's on the verge of shocked histeria.

[Carthrat]

Carthrat struggles to get to grips with this startling revelation.

"Their souls?" he mouths, shocked.

[Anastasia]

She shudders. "Right into his hand," she nods. "Those were souls, alright, and he took them. His hand, Carthrat...."

[Carthrat]

Carthrat shudders, clenching White Glow.

There was another time it had saved his soul.

"Well.. I suppose.. I'll have to speak to him, won't I?" says Carthrat, unsure of what to do with him.

[Anastasia]

Rachel hesitates. "Please.....stop him, if you go. He can't be human. No huma n could or would do that on that scale." Concern battles for attention on her face, clearly shown.

[Carthrat]

"Rachel.. he saved our lives," says Carthrat. "Doesn't that rationalize his actions somewhat?"

[Anastasia]

She shakes her head quickly. "Carthrat, our deaths pale in front of what he just did," she insists. "That's buchery on the most fundamental level! It's something you would have done if you had failed to find White Glow, done with passion!"

[Carthrat]

"Maybe I should give the amulet to him," replies Carthrat, clenching it. "The last owner did say that the time would come to pass it on.."
