The Start of it All

"Kwok, you go back and pick up Angela. Don't worry, we're not going anywhere soon... unfortunately..."

Carthrat turned back to Yamiko. "Well... what ARE you going to do, then? Just ask his permission or something. Barring that, I'm sure if you turned up with just one of us, he wouldn't mind nearly as much.."

Carthrat knew he was down to the bullshitting stage, but he somehow doubted Yamiko would tell the difference..

[Kwokinator]

"B-but this is cool right now!" Kwok argued. "I don't wanna leave and go back alone!  There're CUTE girls here!"

[Carthrat]

Carthrat skillfully twisted Kwok's words back at him.

"What? Are you implying your girlfriend isn't cute, Kwok?"

[Kwokinator]

Kwok glared at Carthrat.  Bastard almost got him.  One of these days...

"Of course Angela isn't cute!" he retorted. "She's BEAUTIFUL!"

Sure, she wasn't around to hear it anyway, but you can never be too careful...

[Carthrat]

"Then, judging by your apparent lack of concern for her, you prefer cute girls to beautiful girls, and as such, would rather have her," Carthrat replied, pointing at Yamiko, "..than Angela. Poor Angela, being betrayed by her boyfriend... again... and again... and again..."

Kwok decided that it was time to "gently" smack Carthrat with a basketball-sized ki-blast.

"I didn't say that!" he growled. "I just... wanna get to know Yamiko better, that's all!  I'm not betraying Angela!"

Sakura waited, waited, and waited some more. Finally reaching the end of her patience she released Ace's arm and headed over to Yamiko.

"My name's Sakura." Sakura held her left hand out in greeting. "What's yours?" Sakura asked sweetly.

OOC:  Why'd this have to happen when I left to visit the grandparents?  shoot. :(

IC: Ace's eyes were the size of saucers as he looked at Sakura.  While he certainly didn't mind having such a hot chick be so forward, not to mention cute to boot, sleeping?  With him?

He fell over backwards and stared off into space.  His brain still couldn't process what she said to him.

"W....w....w...guh?"  He stuttered.  "Sleep?  When?  Where?  What?"

It was obvious that Ace didn't have his bearings yet.

Carthrat stumbled back a step, but quickly regained his footing.

"Resorting to violence, I see... perhaps the first sign of desperation. Which would imply you're desperate to win the argument, otherwise you are outsmarted by me.

Again.

And... WHY do you want to get to know Yamiko better? I can't recall anything special about her except for the fact that she's cute, and that's a no-no.

Besides, if all you wanted to do was get to know Yamiko better, why not bring along Angela? After all, she should meet your friends, otherwise she'll never truly know you."

[Kwokinator]

Kwok growled again.  

"It's all your fault, Carthrat!" he yelled. "You're making it sound like this is my fault!  I just wanna know a couple of cute girls better without Angela digging her spear into my neck!  That's all!"

[Carthrat]

Carthrat cocked an eyebrow.

"Did it occur to you that... Angela might be doing the right thing, and you're in the wrong?"

[Kwokinator]

Kwok's face flushed red.

"But I didn't do anything wrong!"

[Carthrat]

"Hmm. Perhaps you don't understand."

Carthrat paused for a moment, stroking his chin.

"Let's try this from a different angle. You love Angela, right? And she loves you."

"Since you love each other more than anything else in the world, you would give anything to remain together, right?"

[Kwokinator]

Kwok took a moment to think about the answer.

"Uh... yeah?"

[Carthrat]

"That's good, then. But, did it occur to you that by chasing after cute girls- call it what it is, Kwok- that you may be causing Angela to belive that you hold others in higher esteem than her? Granted, it might not be true, and you may not see each other as doing anything wrong, but when you do, she gets hurt.

Kwok, I don't know if you can know how much it hurts. How would you feel if Angela started jumping at every handsome guy? And what if, some day, one of those guys jumped back?

I know it might be hard, Kwok, but sooner or later, you'll have to stop chasing girls like that."

A hint of pain flashed across Carthrat's face.

"Trust me on this if nothing else, Kwok- it's better to be sooner than later."
