[Civilian Footnotes]
Body - Above Human Average (Adult) - As the daughter of a  doctor, and being well educated, Ami takes good care of  her health, with a well balanced diet and careful exercise mostly consisting of swimming. The exercise and diet keeps her body fit and healthy.

Mind - Etremely Capable - Though a genius in her own right,  and a hard worker when it comes to learning, Ami is doing  just that, still learning. She's a 14 year old girl, without much life experience, and this means that though her knowledge puts many adults to shame, she is still not near the best that she could possibly reach. She may be the best in the land, but she still has a ways to go.

Soul - Significantly Above Human Average (Adult) - Ami's ability to focus on tasks she feels are important, such as learning, is mostly how she manifests her power of will. As her focus moves more from the lonely existance of merely learning to protecting those important to her, maybe her willpower will increase? Time will tell.

Easily Distracted - Education - Ami gets a little too into her textbooks sometimes and you have to work to get her attention if she's become absorbed in the task of learning. She also enjoys being the smartest person around, and gets awfully competitive if someone beats or ties with her academically, to the point of near obsession. Her friends need to keep a careful eye on her on the rare times that this happens, lest she forgoes sleep or senshi duties!

Unique Defect - Social Outcast - A child from a separated  family, and a "brainiac" at that, has left Ami with few that she could honestly call close friends, and her shyness does not aid her in making more. Used to the rumors and glares of envy or annoyance (and sometimes both), Ami has found an outlet in her studies, leading to a vicious cycle as she grows smarter.

Appearance - Despite her cuteness, which makes her very attractive to many, most boys are not willing to approach her due to her intelligence, and her seeming unapprochability.

Powerful Mind - In addition to already being a prodigy of sorts, Ami is a hard worker when it comes to studying, thus boosting her already amazing intelligence.

Agility - Though not particularly practiced in running, Ami has developed strong muscles in her legs (as well as the rest of her body, really) from her constant swimming activities. Her agility is not superb, but still better than the average human.

Fast Reflexes - More attributed to her mind than her fit body, Ami is a naturally fast thinker, and can react quickly to dangers presented at her, even of the gaming variety, as shown by Ami getting the top score at the video game Usagi introduced her to after only watching Usagi play for a few minutes.

Coordinator - A quick strategic thinker who has played many "timed attack" games of chess, Ami has a lot of experience in quickly analyzing the moves of an opponent far in advance, an advantage that leads to quick victory against many opponents. Of course, the ability to plan for games does not necessarily translate to battle as well, and does not guarantee victory, especially if  the opponent is as crafty as you. It does provide some benefits though.

A character with this attribute can think steps ahead of an opponent, sometimes predicting an opponent's next set of moves. This analytical skill becomes a godsend in real battle by increasing chances of hitting the opponent, while minimizing chances of being hit yourself. Note that crafty opponents can result in a penalty to mind checks. At Level 2, it provides a -2 CV vs known attack strategies/techniques on successful mind check.

Relevant Stat: Mind
Ami is now capable of applying her strenght there to use her mind to direct magical effects as opposed to her soul, with the visor's guidance. When transformed, as she has direct access to her visor, she can use her mind stat in place of soul checks. In her human form, she can use the average of the two stats.

Note that this -only- applies to Ami's internal magic/soul checks (such as EC or Rejuvenation). External factors which require a soul check would still use the soul stat.

Attack Gesture - Ami must complete the motions of an attack for it to occur. She does not lose EP from a failed attack due to interruption.

Attack Phrase - Ami must also shout out her attack as she makes the gestures for it.

Item Dependancy - Without her transformation pen, Ami must rely on her natural born abilities, for she cannot become Sailor Mercury without it. Her Heightened Senses are also only activated while her visor is operational.

Elemental Weakness - Sailor Mercury takes 2x damage from fire or heat based attacks.

Elemental Alignment - Water, ice or mist based attacks deal no damage to Ami. This applies to most liquids, but not something exotic like acid.

Senshi Attack: Shabon Spray - A powerful spray of bubbles causes a deep mist to descent into the area in question. This is generally about as large as a classroom or perhaps bigger, GM's judgment. As it is not targetted at a single target, it gives a -2 to Mercury's ACV check.

As a mist, it does not effect Ami's Senshi allies, nor Tuxedo Kamen. Other allies may be affected, as the magic is fickle. In the mist, all enemies recieve a -1 to CV, unless they have an alternate means besides sight to detect opponents. Also, extremely powerful foes may resist the affect, and water based creatures are generally affected minimally. This move does no damage. It costs 10 EP

Shabon Ice Spray - The temperature of her magic decreases significantly, to the point that it manifests as as jagged shards of ice. It doesn't have any particular special effects, and costs 15 EP. Does damage as a level 1 attack.

Combined Attacks - Sailor Mercury can combine attacks with 1-2 other senshi. Shabon Spray modifies into Shabon Pressure when combining, a stream of bubbles that assail the enemy. Mercury only gains -1 to her ACV check, though an additional -1 is added to the Enemy's DCV check if the attack succeeds. Shabon Ice Spray acts as normal.

Item of Power: Mercury Visor - A powerful visor that responds to Ami's mental will, able to scan, analyse and point out useful information when used. Generally, scanning a target in combat will require one round. To analyse something difficult or foreign to Ami, a Mind check is needed. Note that it can only be summoned when she is Sailor Mercury.

Mercury Ring - Taken from Balder, it held mysterious energy. The ring was later modified by the spirit of Queen Serenity and turned into the Mercury Ring. The ring is accessible in her civilian form, and connects to her visor, allowing her to do her scans without transforming, the data covering part of her vision. Her scanning radius decreases though.

Heightened Senses - The Mercury Visor's anntenne augument her hearing, giving her one level in Heightened Senses when the visor is on.

Jadeite Style Teleport
Effect: Teleport up to one more small person (no bigger than Ami)
Cost: 20 EP (No check needed)
Rules:
1. You can only teleport to an area you have visited personally, with 5 feet or so. Ami could teleport to her bedroom but not to the roof of a skyscraper she's never seen or just think, "I want to teleport to where the youma is hiding out!" There needs to be knowledge of the place.
2. If directly in the line of sight, it is possible to teleport to a place you can directly see.(Seeing a third story roof from the ground would make it possible to teleport ot the edge of the roof, for example.)
3. Teleportation is not foiled by any material save if their magical nature directly prevents teleportation through it(A total circular barrier, an object that can interfere with teleporting would be a good example.)
4. Teleportation is limited to the planet or world the player is on as a rule.
5. Being in a field of energy the PC can use is known to make teleportation far easier.
6. On appearing, tiredness is often felt as well as the EP cost. While not prohibitive, teleporting all over the city and blowing lots of EP will leave someone tired for more than one reason!
7. More rules and notes may be added as needed.
8. This skill is locked, it cannot be further improved.

[Description]

Ami is 13 years old at the start of the game, and is a petite girl with short blue wavy hair and light blue eyes. Her face is fairly round, giving it an almost babyish feel, though she herself is very fit and doesn't have much in the way of baby fat. Her clothes are generally practical, as opposed to showy, though she does have a few dresses that could be considered showy. She sometimes wears glasses, mostly when it is dark, or if she's reading, but otherwise prefers being without them.



[Family History]
Mizuno Chikako came from a family of doctors, if not particularly well-known. Much like her family, he aspiration was to become a doctor then, and she devoted her studies for that very same profession. At the age of 20, she met a young would-be artist named Yamamoto Yasuo while in college sitting in a cafe, who claimed he was looking for the 'perfect model' for a competition entry. He picked her. Though she initially refused, the man pleaded any time she came into the cafe, and though she sometimes considered simply going to a different place, she did think the fellow was somewhat handsome and she enjoyed the attention.

Eventually she agreed to model, and it tickled her that her portrait won the competition the young artist wished to enter with it. Dating for a short period afterwards, the two eventually married, with Yasuo changing his family name to Mizuno. Soon after, Chikako became pregnant with Ami, prompting her decision to change her focus in medical studies to pediatrics. She finished her studies a few years later, and proposed to her family to move to Tokyo, where an opening for a pediatrician had been offered to her.

They all moved there, and while Chikako enjoyed the city and the recognizition she quickly gained as a peditrician of caliber, Yasuo found the city stiffling, leading to a strain in his relationship with Chikako. When Ami was seven, her parents made the mutual decision to separate, lest the strain becomes something that would hurt not only them, but Ami as well. Recognizing Ami's interest in helping people, Yasuo also left Ami with his wife, with some regret in his heart of not being around his daughter more often. In general though, he thinks he did the right thing.

Yasuo moved to a small rural town where he continues to paint, occassionally sending some of his favorite paintings back home, as well as sometimes simply coming to a visit to spend with his family.

Chikako and Ami have since moved from Tokyo to the slightly more quiet Azuban Juuban district, and Chikako has taken a job as a pediatrician in the nearer Juuban Hospital. They currently live in an apartment penthouse about twenty minutes away from the hospital.

Ami does not have much interaction with the rest of her family, though she has met them all at one time or another.

[Acquaintances]
Saotome Nanako - A pen pal that Ami has corresponding with  for three years. Nanako claims she's a 3rd dan in tae  kwon do, and a black belt in four more martial arts and  that she hopes to be the best martial artist in the world, and then work in the service of the emperor as a secret  agent. As she puts it, "If James Bond is gonna get all the babes, then I'm gonna get all the hunks!"

Ami finds her emails incredibly amusing, and loves to reply immidiately when she receives a email, even when it's just to help her friend with correcting/figuring out homework (a fact that Ami also finds amusing, sometimes thinking of herself as the longest distance tutor around).  They've never really met though, as Nanako lives all the way out in Hokkaido, nor talked over the phone. Their only way of chatting is over the internet.

Shinichi-sempai - A devout fan of detective stories, this 17 year old was once Ami's tutor for chess when she showed interest in the game. Of course, young Ami soon developed interest in something else, and developed her first crush. She was saddened to hear that he already had a girlfriend after presenting to him a love letter, but still enjoys chess games with him from time to time. She has developed an allergic reaction to love letters though as she considers them harbringers of embarrasment.

Ran-sempai - Shinichi's girlfriend, she's someone Ami  admires and envies. She's outgoing, friendly, has lots of friends, and still manages to be an A+ student and a loving girlfriend (if sometimes, somewhat tough on poor  Shinichi-sempai when he screws up). When she thinks even Eistein would not know how to handle a situation, usually situations of the girl variety, she calls her up for advice.

Raito-Hakase - Ami's math teacher in Tokyo, he was one of the first people to highly encourage her gift for calculations, even entrusting the young girl with help in his programming research. He is somewhat of an
audiophile, with a great love for Blues, though he has grown fond for Rock and Roll following the disappearance of Blues from the music scene. He is also the one who introduced Ami to Shinichi Kudo and got her interested in chess. They still correspond over email.
