Quote from: "Shuten"I take back what I said about Jinki EXTEND being one of the better shows of season.
But I bet the music was good, right?

To be honest aside from the opening and ending singles the music was pretty forgettable. Even the opening and ending were only slightly above average at best.

Eh. I probably would have liked it, but I haven't heard it. Maybe he had an off day :p

Some quick comments on some raws I've seen of the newest series. Bear in mind that I'm watching these raw and that my opinion could very well change once I see them subbed. In short take these with a grain of salt.

Koikoi 7 = Cliched harem crap with substandard animation based on a third rate manga. Might give the show another chance when subbed but I see nothing so far that makes me want to bother with it raw.

Sousei no Aquarion = Cliched giant robot drivel with badly done cg. I admit, being a giant robot fanboy, that I'm a bit more upbeat on this one despite the bad cg. The music is very well done though. In fact that's the  one area where the show really shines so far. Of course having music done by Yoko Kanno rarely hurts. In fact the worst part of the show is the computer cg in my not so humble opinion.

Erementar Gerad = Typical boy's anime with above average animation and pretty decent music. The story is nothing special so far but compared to the prior two shows mentioned it's quite a bit better. On the downside though the show is editted by the same person who handled the editting of 'Jinki EXTEND' and unfortunately that moron couldn't edit his way out of a paper bag with a gaping hole in it. Suffice it to say I'm scared to death the moron may well end up butchering yet another show. I'll give Erementar Gerad a chance but in my opinion having 'EXTEND's' editor working on the show is truly an ill omen.

Anyways I'll comment on other shows later.

To be honest my favorite song from the two singles isn't even used in the series. 'Toshishita Michisuu Nou Uchi HD' performed by Angela that is.

Just finished watching the UFOTable's version of Futakoi, aptly named Futakoi Alternative, episode 1 raw and I have but a few short words to describe my opinion...

IT F***ING ROCKED!

Forget everything you know about the first series, except the basic designs of as well as the twins names, because this is not your Father's Telecom, group responsible for the original or as I like to call them Telecrap, version. It completely blows away the original in every possible aspect.

If you avoided the original I don't blame you but if you don't at least check out the first episode of Futakoi Alternative I can only pity you. Easily my favorite so far of all the new shows. It definitely doesn't disappoint.

Tsubasa Chronicles

Ok. Having gotten around to watching the first episode I have to say I have mixed feelings about this one. The animation is very nice, which is to be expected from the first episode. Let us hope it stays this way. It actually feels a lot like Noir. Perhaps because Minako Shiba also did character designs for Noir. Or it could be because Yuki Kajiura is doing the music! I love this woman's work. I really do. So there is that.

None of the VAs are the same from the various CLAMP shows characters are drawn. I can understand why they might not want to go through the trouble (or funds) of getting the originals, but I'm still a bit let down. On there own, though, I haven't had issue with anyone as yet, and Sakura's new VA, Yui Makino, grows on you. The scene where she and Syaoran are talking on the rocks won me over for her, and I rather like his VA (the main from DNAngel).

The number one problem for me right now is the pacing. Ye gods! They crammed a whole novel into the space of one episode! o_O

It might not bother those who have as yet not read the manga, I couldn't honestly say I'd know for sure, but for those wo have it will boggle your mind. I mean, seriously, breakneck speed doesn't begin to describe it. Which is sad, because it has the potential o ruin a show that has hust about everything else going for it. -_-

I'll give it a few more episodes before I come back with my second thoughts.
