My Understanding is that all Jaenelleang needs is to kill some dragon and be the lucky winner of the single drop.  

So.  My plan is to find Raids there as often as possible.  If someone else is at this part, let me know so you don't miss a potential opportunity.

The importance of the key, well, most raids(most meaning the two or three people I disussed this with) won't admit you to an Onxia killing quest unless you have it.

You can't enter Onyxia's instance without the key, that's why they admit you.  You simply can't go.

Onyxia's key is a rather long chain of quests - I know it starts with all the Windsor's quests in BRD but that's certainly not the all of it.  What I think you're talking about needing in that post is the Blood of Drakkisath, which drops from General Drakkisath, end boss of the Upper Blackrock Spire - but that quest is the very end of the chain.

Do all the Marshall Windor quests for BRD, then just follow the quest chain.

For anyone who's interestd, here's the exact chain.


1)  Dragonkin Menace.
2)  After the above is complete, he considers you competent and sends you to a couple more people
3)  You end up at Morgan's Vigil, after speaking to the drunken Dwarf, and he sends you to find Windsor in BRD.
4) Multiple and very time consuming Windsor quests which end in jail break.
5)  Go to Morgan's Vigil to pick up the quest line again
6)  rendevous and something else.  You meet Windsor in front of the castle then follow him to the throne room.
7)  After the impressive fight, make sure to talk to the winner guy to get the amulet and instructions.
8)  In Winterspring, close to the the main city is a cave.  You know it cause it's guarded by elite dragonkin, who are blue.  In the cave, near the end, is a small glypth on the floor.  It's impossible to see from a distance.  It teleports you to the top of the mountain where you talk to a nice lady and she tells you you need the blood of Drakkisath.
9)  After he's dead and you win the roll for it, not sure the exact steps.  You might need to go to the nice lady, or not.
10)  You get to kill Onxia!
