Part 4: Enter the Vault

[Halbarad]

"I haven't the faintest clue," Clyde replied, shaking his head a bit. "That was the first test I've taken in probably ten or fifteen years. I suppose tomorrow will tell."

[Shukuen]

"I already checked this morning. Failed due to genetic defect."

Leets frowned, giving the general impression that he was pouting under his scarf.

[Olvelsper]

"Huh? They even check for that? What rat bastards." He frowned.  "Was it something that might be dangerous to you, though?"

[Shukuen]

"No, it had something to do with possible complications in future generations." Leets jokingly added, "Guess that means I won't be having kids."

[Dexie Oblivion]

"Heh, most children are brats, anyway."

[Shukuen]

Leets shot Darx with a flat glare. "I resent that remark."

[Dexie Oblivion]

Darx grins.

"Can't blame me for speaking the truth, ne?"

[Olvelsper]

"At least it won't do anything to you, Leets..." Jan tried.

[Shukuen]

"At least that's what they say, though they could have been hiding it for some reason."

[Olvelsper]

"I doubt it, this city is too full of holier than thou people. They wouldn't sugarcoat what they'd see as faults in you." Jan frowned. "Regardless, even if you're not allowed here, I'll arrange something for you back in New Brunswick."

[Shukuen]

"But they would if something threatens they're perfect society, wouldn't they?" Leets pointed out with a tired sigh, though he perked up at Jan's offer.

"Really? That'd be great."

[Olvelsper]

"Yeah, in fact, I'll extend the other to you all. I can see that you would work hard, and once caught up on this world's inner workings, you'd probably be a great help to New Brunswick."

[Dexie Oblivion]

Darx nods..

"Alright, sounds good to me."

[Olvelsper]

"Hm. I have a question, back in the raider's camp, were you the one that started the fire? Or did it happen to be a convenient cow I didn't see back there?"

[Dexie Oblivion]

A wide grin creeps across Darx's face, a creepy sight indeed.
