Because people just wanted to play more 3rd ed.

Existing players: You can either roll a new character or keep your current one, it's up to you. Either way, your character starts at 3rd level this time around, so level him up appropraitely. You've also got 2.7k gold to spend, on magic items and whatnot. *Exactly* what is up to you, though. Rolling method is ala standard for new characters; 5d6, subtract lowest. If you decide to reroll your stuff, you have to keep whatever you get.

If you're using something outside the core books, let me know, pleaaaase. I'm very lenient, but I dislike surprises. >_>

You don't need to know each other beforehand, but if you do that's fine.

The game isn't going to be a dungeon crawl or the like. Your characters should generally have significant, non-blatantly disruptive motives. Try to make them at least moderately belivable, I like to keep a semi-serious tone. >_>

Here's the deal. This time around we're using the 3.5 rules, as you all know. I'm not intimitely familiar with these rules, at least not to the extent I am with 3.0 (at least from the player-side.)

Therefore, I apologize in advance for any improptu changes I make to the rules during play. I generally follow the 'make sense' school of thought in this regard, so I will try to avoid illogical changes in the name of balance. I'm somewhat leery of material from non-core books but I'm generally willing to let stuff through, with a suitable reasoning.

You're all neutral characters, for some reason, which is kinda neat. I hope you all expand on your moral outlooks in your backgrounds. If your alignment should happen to change during play, though, don't be surprised. That said, try to avoid being evil in nature. If this game becomes a villian game it will make me very sad. ;_;

Post your revised backgrounds here, at least.

Try to think through this game. Remember, monsters can (and frequently) have class levels, too! And just because none of you are mages means there are less mages running around than there would be anyway. Be clever, careful, and keep an eye out for those Will-Save-Based enchantment spells, ok?
