Yeah, it's a weird name, but frankly, most english uttered by people in Japan confuses me.

About the game: Well, in one sense, its a Arkanoid clone with a miko (named Reimu) and lasers (ofuda) that shoot the ball, and - oh yes, if the ball hits you, it kills you.  So maybe Arkanoid clone isn't the best description.

Let's try again!  This game is a shooter, except you play a miko instead of a spaceship.  And your shots don't kill the enemy (which  are usually cards anyway, so don't shoot at you).  To do that, you whack a yin-yang ball around with that paper-stick thing that mikos use or slide tackling it.  Which doesn't make sense at ALL for a shooter, and...bleh.

So it's not really either, I guess, but it's own kind of game.

Anyway, the platform is not the IBM compatible, but the PC98.  Since it was wriiten for a failed computing platiform,  you're obviously not going to find something that looks like WoW, or for that matter, any of the games usually discussed in this sub-forum.  So why bring it up at all?  Because it's also the first of the ZUNsoft games, a long running series ("Touhou" series - currently up to 9) of doujin-shooters-on-crack that include storylines that are interrelated with one another, characters with extensive backstories, long running plotlines, and of course, WAY too many freaking bullets.

Anyway, if you're interested in a game that's a classic (if not a classic on this side of the ocean), then you can get it here, although the guy who owns the page takes down old games weekly, so if you want it, get it quickly.  If you're just interested in how it looks, there are some sample pictures here. And if you're interested in all the other games that follow (or you just enjoy being games where the bullets shot at you take up 90% of the screen),  this  is probably a good link.
