Planning: A back to the past flare?

Rei, Ami and Makoto have been talked about in PMs; there has been some discussion of revving up the SM1 remaining PCs for a small refresher and rewhirl in that wonderful world. I'll get to the point, since I've talked to all of you about it.

I'm interested. I miss a lot of the feel and world set we built there. I miss Eudial and Viluy bickering. I miss Chibi Usa laughing with Daddy Rei-chan. I miss Usagi and Rei's interactions and flow. I miss Ami longingly looking for love and getting a chance with Natsume. I miss lesbians. (<_<) I miss Mugen. I miss all of it, you know?

Therein lies the appeal and the flaw. While a good remainder of the last game's crew lives, Usagi and Haruka don't. This is an obvious barrier first and foremost, and one that needs to be reasoned out. Is it worth going on without them for you girls? Assuming so, is there inteterest in giving the old crew another small hurrah? Do you want to still RP these girls?

If the answers to all of these are yes, we do have one other issue: Hotaru. It really isn't any fun if she' sleft on the sidelines for a few weeks and watching, so we need to address that somehow as well. Thoughts?

I'm somewhat ambivalent. The last game was awesome, no doubt about it, but recapturing the mindset for playing Rei will be hard.

While on the surface it seems like the lack of Usagi would also be difficult, Rei's most shining moment did come in an omake where Usagi was absent right up until the end where she was just an NPC with a tiny speaking role (Star Ocean), so it could be done, it just depends what sort of tone we're shooting for.

Anyway, I'm cautious about this, but not actually against it. If people want to give it a shot, I'll be happy to oblige.

As stated in PMs, I'm more than willing to revisit this game...though I've made my opinion about trying to recapture the entirety of the original flavor clear. If we're going to go at this, something tailored for Rei, Ami and possibly Mako-chan, centering on the witches is definitely the way to go.

After all, Rei and Ami, from my impressions, have the strongest ties to them, and they're a functioning group of adventurers in their own right.

As for Hotaru-chan, I think she could handle any character sheet you passed her. >_> Though, I must confess, after thinking it over a long while, if Midi's fine with it, having her assume Natsume would be pretty funny.

This gets at a point here. If/how May plays someone here, I'd prefer it to be a bit of a shift from Hotaru's general mindset. Get a bit of a switch and change going.

Anyhow, as had been mentioned way back then, I wouldn't mind another spin in Mako-chan's shoes, though as was also mentioned, I really don't recall too entirely how to play -as- Mako-chan, since she did change quite a bit over the course of the game, if nothing else, due to being in a relationship with Alan. I can just assume any changes are attributed to growing up though, as was the case in that long ago omake where she went to find her son after he stumbled onto another reality, aka our recent world.

Sure. Works for me. There will be a fair bit of feeling out. There's more to come on this, but it'll be in another far reaching topic in a few days. I have some shit to post about regarding this and other matters. Thanks for the imput, all.

As an aside, I propose the Hotaru question again. Does anyone mind if she tries an NPC to run so she's not twiddling her thumbs? If so, any suggestions?

Should ask the girl herself, but I suppose the only options are Ann and the Witches.

Of those, Viluy has the same problem as Rei regarding significant others lacking their PCs. Depending on what the omake involves, Tellu might not be appropriate (depends on whether there's fighting or not), and Cyprine/Ptliol have the 'can't have one without the other' problem.

Really, I think Ann, Viluy, or Eudial are the best bets.

Also, comedy reincarnated Cynthia option.

Okay, this is go! The current playerpool is Usagi, Rei, Ami, Makoto and *MayTBD*. Notes follow.

1. Who exactly plays and hows matters with the following: Hal's scheduling, Merc's work schedule and our gaming time, and my own personal issues.

1a. Hal, let me know what your schedule is like this coming week and poke me ASAP about when you get loan info back.

1b. Merc, let me know how you look this coming week. Further, see below.

2. Scheduling! We can do this two ways, I reckon. We can either focus on a few days a week we can all be here and go nuts, or spread it out over a few weeks as we can all get together. We'll need at least one day a week we can all hopefully meet at least once, since I'd like to have one big group scene at some juncture and it'll probably be needed. Do you girls have a preference on how we rig this up? By all means speak up here. This matters the most for Usagi and Makoto, I reckon.

3. RPingwise!  Is there anyone you really want to make some time with, NPC or PC? Again, state this so I can take it into final consideration.

4. Warmups: Over this week I'd like to do a few warm up scenes with 1-2 PCs per, as well as work with Hotaru's character.

5. Talk with Hotaru, finalise who her PC is. Run 3-4 sessions with that, get a grip on that as well.

6. Possible omakes? I don't want to get too off track, but we may have time to run a few short ones pending on various factors. ARe there any you'd really like to reprise or anything you'd like to try?

7. Remember, you're allowed to be gay now. I expect lots of gayness. *Nods*!

1. This week's schedule is as follows, for availability:

Tu-Th: Available for gaming from about 6:15pm EST-1am EST.

Fri: Available until 1 pm EST.
Sat-Mon: Available starting at probably 1 pm EST Saturday and open pretty much all the way through Monday evening, although I suspect Sunday afternoon will be family stuff.

For my regular schedule, I'm pretty much open evenings for Tu-Fri, and all day Sat-Mon.

2. My advice would be a bit more spread out, rather than trying to cram a bunch of RPing in all at once. Less burnout for all involved that way, and more relaxed RPing atmosphere is preferable for me.

3. Be nice to get back into the groove with Eb, as with the Usagi-1 in Redux omakes I haven't had much chance to interact with him (largely due to timing issues, but also the double Usagi problem factors in too. >_>)

4. I've been omakeing with Usagi-1, so I'm probably more or less out of this one.

5. This is not me. <_< Natsume's been forwarded, and I think it'd be a fun fit. Only issue there is that I don't think her ascension to Venus was ever finalized in terms of date, so whether she's a senshi or not is a bit up in the air.

6. Assuming I can get time with Eb (and he's interested in putting the time in on Rei-chan) I'd like to get my Twist on the Familiar omake running again. In rereads the ideas I had going there have really got my creative juices flowing again, and I'd like to take another run at this one. Aside from that? Nothing really comes to mind.

Post of off-topicness: For timeframe, Dune's talking winter, about a year after Splinter's conclusion. My pick in that sense would be for starting in early December, with the leadup to Christmas - assuming we don't have some grand crisis to fight, having Christmas and New Year's celebrations as a wrapup to the flashback would be a nice touch, I think.
