[23:17] <@Relaizary> <->
[23:18] <@Relaizary> Freehold is a castle town built on one of Tethyr's few sandy beaches. Built to repulse an invasion by sea, it has since grown into a bustling port. Starting at the top of the hill is the fortress itself, and you can spy ballista and catapults along the wide walls that make it up. Spilling down from it is the town proper, slowly becoming more and more of a visual mess until it reaches the virtual sargasso of the docks.
[23:19] <@Relaizary> The smell of fish and salt surrounds Al'Maz, Thrall, Seraphin, and... Lucia, who has been tailing alongside the group since it left Darromar to reach here, rather abruptly. In the words of Maz, she is here too...
[23:20] * @Thrall peers down towards the harbour, trying to see if he can recognise his old ship amidst the docks.
[23:22] <@Relaizary> ..well, anyway. Thrall can see the flag of the 4Ravage2, the sleek pirate-hunter docked towards the edge of the port. Making one's way down there isn't too difficult, and Thrall is rewarded with the familiar sight of people packing up and making ready to set sail.
[23:24] * @Seraphin wrinkles her nose at the scent, before the expression shifts into a slight smile. "I haven't been to a port since...Waterdeep," she admits, tapping the hilt of her bejeweled shortsword lightly. "Your friends are trustworthy?" she asks, glancing at Thrall.
[23:25] <@Thrall> "There's the Ravage," Thrall points out the sloop for the benefit of his companions. "Should get us to Calimshan easily enough if I can have a word with the captain." Turning to Seraphin, he nods, "Nothing to do with my old thieves guild - that ship has to uphold Waterdeep's reputation, after all."
[23:26] <@Maz> "Feel like working out a deal with them?" Maz asks Thrall.
[23:27] <@Thrall> "That's the plan," the half-orc nods, urging his horse to canter down through the town towards the docks and his old ship.
[23:29] * @Seraphin just shakes her head. "I just hope it doesn't hold up my end of Waterdeep's reputation..." she murmrus, before urging her horse after Thrall.
[23:30] <@Relaizary> Reaching the Ravage isn't too hard- despite the business of the port, horses and weapons tend to clear a part by sight alone. One of the men working there glances up at the party- and grins. "Well I'll be- Thrall, you cocksucker! Decided to come crawling back, eh?" comes a hearty voice. Lean but well-muscled, and wearing the battered uniform and hat of a Waterdhavian captain- minus insignia-, Captain Windriver doesn't appear to have aged a day. He still sports a craggy face and slightly greying hair, but his eyes are as sharp as ever.
[23:31] <@Relaizary> Captain Windriver doesn't appear to have aged a day. He still sports a craggy face and slightly greying hair, but his eyes are as sharp as ever.
[23:31] <@Relaizary> Lucia stumbles at little at his harsh words, however. Clashing with the rest of the port in a neatly-cared for blue dress and sporting the insignia of Mystra, she stays close behind Maz, looking around with wide, eager eyes.
[23:31] <@Maz> "That's alright, he didn't mean that," Maz reassures Lucia, staying close to her.
[23:32] <@Relaizary> "I know THAT," she huffs, shaking her head.
[23:33] * @Maz snickers in amusement, observing Thrall.
[23:33] * @Thrall dismounts his horse, going over to clasp hands with the captain (and not incidentally give his a bruising). "When I heard you'd ran off down here to escape the big bad Arcane Brotherhood, I had to come see if it was true," he returns good naturedly.
[23:35] <@Seraphin> "Would she faint if I started cursing in Infernal?" Seraphin asks, half directed at Maz and half at her acolyte, though giving the young girl a teasing look and raised silver eyebrows.
[23:36] <@Maz> "I don't think so. Lucia doesn't know Infernal, right?" Maz responds, glancing at Lucia near the end.
[23:36] <@Relaizary> "Captain Windriver does not run from anybody! He simply finds better circumstances elsewhere," replies Windriver, nodding. "I see you've brought three *beautiful* friends with you. My compliments, Thrall. There must be more to you than tusks after all."
[23:36] <@Relaizary> Lucia shakes her head, emphatically. "No way! I can speak Celestial, though. It's a way prettier langauge, and who'd want to talk to a devil, anyway?"
[23:37] <@Maz> "See?" Maz tells Seraphin with a shrug and a smile.
[23:37] * @Seraphin bares a fang at Lucia. "12Those who've met them," she answers in flowing, articulate Celestial.
[23:38] * @Thrall snorts. "Aye, and two of them can be as fearsome as Alexandrovia on her worst day," he notes warningly. "I'll let you guess which... Anyway, I ran into Lestat over in Darromar, and he mentioned you were heading to Calimshan. So happens that's where we're headed..."
[23:38] <@Relaizary> 12"Oh god! You didn't make a deal, right? That's really bad- you never get out a deal with the devil, I hear," 1she stammers, in equally articulate Celestial- though it seems to be the rougher kind used by Hound Archons, rather than the articulate speech of Ghaele.
[23:39] * @Maz rolls her eyes at the gibberish.
[23:39] <@Relaizary> "Heading, yes. Right away, no," he responds, cheerfully. "We've got pirates to hunt, and all that. You know, making ends meet, putting more salted beef on the table, buying grog that isn't swill."
[23:41] <@Seraphin> "12No, I just ran into them...or rather, they ran into me. My great-grandfather decided his children needed more spice in their life." Seraphin snorts, shrugging. "12I ran into a few others in Fugue a few weeks ago, though."
[23:41] <@Relaizary> 3"Oh, right, it's ok if you run into them in Fugue,"1 she nods. 3"Just don't agree to serve the Nine Hells when you're there- wait wait what."
[23:42] * @Thrall nods. "Any idea when you'll be underway?" he asks. "Even if you go looking for trouble, I'd still feel better sailing on the Ravage than most other ships around here."
[23:43] * @Seraphin touches the choker covering the scar across her neck, and shrugs. "Don't worry about it," she switches back to Common, a slight shrug. "It's old business. Demons and devils on the other hand? Family is never old business."
[23:44] <@Relaizary> "Aye, today or tomorrow, depends on how drunk people are," he responds, shrugging. "There's a pretty notorious group out there now, don't you know- got a ship with a trio of druids on it, or so I'm told. Got spot-on information, too- people don't know how they're getting it."
[23:46] <@Thrall> "Druids?" Thrall scowls. "They'd be fierce, out at sea... Hmm. Let me ask my friends what they think." Turning back to the fiendlings plus innocent cleric, "What say you to a little diversion on the way to Calimshan?" he asks.
[23:47] <@Maz> "No problems with that," Maz responds with another shrug. "As long as it eventually gets us to Calimshan after all."
[23:47] <@Seraphin> "What kind of diversion?" Seraphin asks, holding up her hands.
[23:47] <@Relaizary> "They're miusing their magic in the name of piracy! But I don't know, it sounds dangerous," mumbles Lucia, twirling her hair into knots.
[23:48] <@Thrall> "The Ravage," Thrall cocks his head towards the boat, "Is going to be hunting down a gang of pirates before heading South. Three druids, meant to be pretty notorious," he supplies for Seraphin and Maz.
[23:49] <@Seraphin> "So there's money involved?" Seraphin clarifies, focusing on the relevant point.
[23:51] * @Thrall snorts, glancing at his former captain. "With this cheap bastard? Not likely," he says quite loudly.
[23:52] <@Relaizary> "Hey, I resent that!" replies Windriver, glowering. "I paid you your shares, fair and square. Calimport-" he adds, turning to the group- "Is offering a fifteen-thousand gold bounty on whoever puts down the ship and brings back the flag."
[23:52] * @Thrall smiles, unseen by the captain. That worked out quite well.
[23:52] * @Seraphin sighs. "I was trying to cut down on the slaughtering for fun...how many people in your crew?" she asks curiously.
[23:55] <@Relaizary> "30. Meself, the ship sorcerer, and the first mate count for two, though," he replies, grinning. "I don't know if Thrall actually learnt which end of his axe yer supposed to hit people with, though, so until y'prove useful, that'd be one share for each of ye'. Acquit yourselves well, and there's more in the bargain." He coughs a moment. "'course, what you take from ships we scuttle or capture be yours to keep."
[23:58] * @Seraphin pauses a moment, considering. "Base of four hundred and change, but that's with life insurance," she digests, nodding finally. "Sure, I'm good."
[23:59] * @Maz feels even better about this venture now that money is involved.
[23:59] <@Thrall> "I've learned a few tricks since I was last at sea," Thrall notes confidently. "Looks like you've got a few extra hands, Captain."
[00:03] <@Relaizary> "Good to hear. The heck do your friends do, anyway? Giving me the shivers just looking at the eyes," he comments, broadly. "Swords? Spells? Speeches?"
[00:06] <@Seraphin> "I stick very sharp objects into extremely tender locations given half an opportunity, I speak six languages--half of which aren't commonly spoken, I sneak into places fairly well, and I can usually find and knock out traps. And I tend to thin out any overly frisky male population." Seraphin shrugs. "Professionally I work in killing and writing."
[00:07] <@Relaizary> "Ah, so you're a captain's worst nightmare," he replies, nodding. "You're hired."
[00:07] <@Maz> "Put me down for spells," Maz responds simply for herself.
[00:08] <@Relaizary> "And you're his *second*-worst nightmare. And you, girly? Plenty of rough men on a boat like this. Might have trouble keeping your skirts on," he says, giving Lucia a decidedly lewd glance.
[00:08] <@Maz> "Though I dislike it, I shall have to set them on fire," Maz smoothly interjects.
[00:08] <@Seraphin> "Oh, and I can play the harp," Seraphin rmemebers suddenly, like it's a recent event. Which it is. "I don't have a harp, but I can play it. Oh, and you touch her against her will, and I'll make my antics in Waterdeep look decidedly tame."
[00:10] <@Relaizary> "'course you will! This trip is going to end unpleasantly for all involved, I see," he goes on, grinning. "All aboard, then!"
[00:10] <@Relaizary> "Oh, but get rid of your horses- they're bad luck. Though, women are bad enough luck on a ship, but I've already got two, so a few more can't hurt."
[00:13] <@Thrall> "He's only joking," Thrall finally speaks up for Lucia's benefit. "Discipline was always tight on the Ravage - especially when I was enforcing it. You won't have any more trouble than rude comments." Going over to pat his horse, "Know if there's any stable around here that'll buy them?" he asks Windriver.
[00:13] <@Relaizary> "Nope. I don't do much with horses," replies Windriver, cheerily. "Try the keep."
[00:16] * @Seraphin smiles slightly. "Either way," she allows, shrugging casually. "I guess we should find somewhere, yeah...we've had them since Saradush," she shakes ehr head, patting the mount's neck.
[00:17] <@Maz> "What is the range for engagements, normally?" Maz asks the captain, tilting her head curiously.
[00:18] <@Relaizary> "Depends," he responds. "Weather and magic fuck everything up, though. Usually ends up with both ships ramming each other, though. Be going into detail about it on deck, when my untrustworthy hooligans of advisors can help me."
[00:19] <@Maz> "Close range it is, then," she says to herself, nodding.
[00:20] <@Relaizary> "Oi, can you fly?"
[00:21] <@Maz> "It is a distinct possibility," she agrees.
[00:22] <@Relaizary> "Tops. Double share for you already," he nods, turning to head onto the ship. "Better get your sleeping arrangements sorted out. Y'all don't mind sharing a room, right? I think I've got half of one to spare."
[00:23] * @Seraphin eyes Thrall a moment warily. "I suppose I already told him," she shrugs. "Should be fine."
[00:24] <@Thrall> "Hardly different than us sleeping a few feet away in the wilderness," Thrall replies, shrugging.
[00:26] <@Relaizary> <-Timeskippery!->
[00:28] <@Relaizary> After a modicum of messing around, the group finally gets on board the ship. Brief introductions are done, and while conditions are cramped in the tiny room that it is insisted you sleep in, it's not *too* bad. After finishing off "the last decent meal you're likely to have", the ship actually casts off! In moments, you're feeling the ship sway beneath your feet, and leaving the coast of Tethyr behind.. but only for a little distance. The boat you're on still stays fairly close, though land isn't in sight.
[00:28] <@Relaizary> but only for a little distance. The boat you're on still stays fairly close, though land isn't in sight.
[00:30] <@Relaizary> Later, Captain Windriver invites the travellers to his cabin, along with his 'untrustworthy advisors', to have a little chat. A large wooden table is set up, with a map spread across it. Two angry-looking woman sit on either side of Windriver, one clad in a skimpy cloak, shirt, and skirt. A few scrolls are tied loosely to her barely-there belt, and her blonde hair spills across in curls.
[00:31] <@Relaizary> On the other side is a woman wearing plate mail that appears to have green mold growing on it. Her teeth are shark-like, and tend to gnash together, creating a disturbing clicking sound.
[00:31] <@Thrall> "Ingrid. Alexandrovia," Thrall nods to the blonde and the other woman in turn, smiling in his own tusky way. "It's been too long."
[00:32] <@Relaizary> "It has. I hope dearly for the bitch-queen to devour your immortal soul this time aroud," snarls the moldy woman. Ingrid, however, sniffs. "Yes. Too long, indeed," she mumbles, glancing at Windriver.
[00:32] <@Seraphin> "And I thought we were going to be the only odd ones on this trip," Seraphin notes wryly, giving the 'advisors' a fangy smile.
[00:34] * @Thrall shakes his head, repressing a sigh. Everyone wants him to suffer eternal damnnation, lately... "Don't worry, Alex. I'm not going to be taking my old job back - we're just along for the ride, this time."
[00:35] <@Relaizary> "Unfortunately, being different is not a unique trait on the high seas," says Windriver, soberly, ignoring Thrall. "This ship we're up against- called the 'Seben', or something like that. First thing's first- survivors relate crowds of sharks swimming around, no matter what waters they were in. So *don't bleed when you fall in*."
[00:35] <@Relaizary> "Someone always does, by the way. I know Thrall can swim like some kind of demented puppy, but I ain't keeping an eye out for anyone who can't."
[00:36] <@Seraphin> "...4Shit," Seraphin mutters in Infernal. "I smell like blood as an inherited thing," she growls. "I can also swim, though."
[00:37] <@Relaizary> "Sure, that's what they all say," sniffs Ingrid.
[00:37] <@Maz> "Let's avoid the falling in the waters thing," Maz suggests with a snort. "If it gets that bad, call out and I'll fly after you."
[00:38] <@Relaizary> "Ahem. Secondly, who here likes lightning?"
[00:41] * @Thrall does not raise his hand.
[00:41] <@Relaizary> "Nobody? Good to hear, because the druids do," he comments. "Put a hole straight through a ship, so we're probably doomed before we start. That is, unless we fuck them up in advance."
[00:42] <@Relaizary> "You asked about range before," he continues, glancing at Maz. "Thing is, fights happen in *stages*. You've got what I like to call 'finding' range, which is where you're looking for the bastards. Then you've got 'spellslingin' range, where Ingrid hoists her pretty little ass into the air and flies over to slaughter some bastards."
[00:43] <@Relaizary> "Now, see, we've got double the power for spellslingin' this time around," he comments, glancing at Maz. "Got a problem with the job?"
[00:43] <@Maz> "Whyever would I?" she asks, raising an eyebrow.
[00:44] <@Relaizary> "'cos it's dangerous! There's no support, no help, and there seems to be a good chance of getting hit by lightning bolts. Or arrows. Or crazy people who jump off the rigging to try and carry you down," cries Ingrid. "I bet these druids can summon flying critters, too.."
[00:45] <@Maz> "This does not sound especially convincing when coming from someone already doing such things on her own," Maz idly comments.
[00:48] <@Thrall> "She's had a lot of practice," Thrall puts in as diplomatically as he can.
[00:48] <@Relaizary> "Yeah, but whenever we go up against a pirate who actually has a clue, I always get *hurt*," she whines. "These ones have druids, so they're obvious-" "Shut up," interjects Windriver. "As I've said, your job will be to fly over there and make a mess. They might do the same to us, hell, they might have some mages alongside the druids, survivors aren't terribly articulate."
[00:48] <@Relaizary> "I hold it's better to set them on fire first."
[00:50] <@Maz> "We should concentrate on one of the druids and pool our fire, so to speak. Two druids would be better than three, and if we're still in a shape to fight after that, we could repeat it with another druid." Maz shrugs, looking at Ingrid. "How does that sound?"
[00:51] <@Relaizary> "Alright," she considers. "This SHOULD be easier with both of us." Alex nods. "Good to hear that's settled! Anyway, the next round of fighting is the arrows round. Basically, lots of wood changes sides and hardly anyone really gets hurt. It's more a formality than anything. You ever learn to use that bow, Thrall?"
[00:52] <@Thrall> "It's not my preferred weapon, but I can kill well enough with it," the half-orc nods grimly. He knows how to use lots of weapons he never gets the chance to show off!
[00:52] <@Seraphin> "I've got a bow, a relatively short one, even if it has a strong pull," Seraphin provides, shrugging.
[00:54] <@Relaizary> "Excellent. Usually, during this round, we've STILL got Ingrid wailing in the sky," continues Alex. "Now, the round after that is the grappling round. That's where we fling over grappling hooks and ropes and ladders and stuff and start boarding the enemy ship," he continues. "This is the round where most people fall in and die- don't miss it! It's vital to get a hold on the enemy."
[00:56] <@Relaizary> "I actually lied, there- the next round is the one where I'm most likely to not need to pay you anymore. It's called the 'kill people who don't look like you' round, where the ships run into each other, people start leaping around, and it generally gets messy. Once, I tried to plan for this round, but it never works- just try and *fuck* people *up*."
[00:56] * @Thrall smiles. This was always the best part, for him.
[00:57] <@Relaizary> "Any questions? Oh, by the way, things never work out like this, something *always* goes wrong, and any unique ideas that cause more blood to be on their ship than mine will be appreciated."
[00:59] <@Seraphin> "If we had catapults..." Seraphin shakes her head. "Or a few dozen crossbows, but I don't think we do, so y'know."
[00:59] <@Relaizary> "We've got ballista," says Ingrid. "As long as Windriver doesn't hit me with one again, they get the job done. I'm not sure what job, exactly, but I'm sure they do it."
[01:01] <@Seraphin> "I wsas looking more for payload or volume of fire," Seraphin shrugs. "I don't know, if you could figure out a way to make the ballista fire swarms of bolts or arrows...I'd say caltrops, but we have to get things off their ship, not just sink it."
[01:02] <@Thrall> "We could just sink it," Thrall provides. "But that's usually less profitable."
[01:02] <@Relaizary> "We can send off a volley that'll make even a contingent of elves jealous," replies Alex, confidentally. "Sure, it's all but useless until you get close, and it's not that useful there, but it does work."
[01:02] <@Relaizary> "Sometimes we set them on fire. But that's usually less profitable."
[01:03] <@Seraphin> "See, I'd mount them all up, and wait unti you're right next to each other, thenf ire everything. Get yourself a nice semi-clear area of deck before boarding."
[01:05] <@Relaizary> "We sometimes do that in the grappling round," notes Alex. "Good idea, though. Think we can get off a round of ballista bolts, and load 'em all again a couple times before we're up close."
[01:05] <@Seraphin> "That's why I'd suggest buckets of crossbow bolts instead--you'll likely get more targets with them over a better area."
[01:06] <@Relaizary> "They won't fly straight, though. More likely to annoy people than drop 'em. Caltrops, now, that'd be a funny idea, but then we could have problems, too."
[01:08] <@Seraphin> "This is where catapults would be a better idea. If we could get themn in a high arc, they'd come down tip first, but that'd mean ranging and all sorts...and having catapults," Seraphin snickers, shrugging.
[01:08] <@Relaizary> "I like ballista- you can stick ropes on the end and try to pull down sails," comments Alex. "The temptation to launch people from a catapult is too great for me, however."
[01:10] <@Thrall> "And sometimes the ballista can catch a couple of people in a line. That always takes the fight out of anyone who sees it," Thrall adds in with a grim chuckle.
[01:12] <@Relaizary> "Now, one other thing," he adds. "Druids. Did some homework, they're all nature-like, right? Lightning, walls of wind, crazy animals who hate us- yeah, I can deal with all that," he continues. "Heard about these ones, though. Now, druids are like other spellcasters, right? Casting spells one at a time, on their own, yeah? Not these three. Heard they cast spells, what's the word, conjunctively? Concurrently? Ah- collaboratively!"
[01:12] <@Relaizary> "Like, they're pretty bad taken individual, but the total is greater than the sum and all that."
[01:13] <@Thrall> "So killing even one should ruin their abilities?" Thrall asks, interested.
[01:14] <@Maz> "This fits in with our plan," Maz agrees. "Though we shouldn't dawdle and give them the chance to show this sum greater than the parts bit."
[01:15] <@Relaizary> "Might fuck up their usual method," replies Alex, considering. "They're dangerous singly, but worse together, because they pool their tounges to cast better spells, or so I'm told. Don't know how much of that to believe. And, last thing. They're druids, for chrissakes. Ocean's the most natural place on Toril, when you think about it- land gets despoiled, but the sea stays the same. They're gonna be tough nuts to crack no matter what we do."
[01:15] <@Relaizary> crack no matter what we do."
[01:20] <@Relaizary> "No questions? Good show! They've been sighted up and down the Tethyr/Calimshan coast, hitting up merchant ships- we're tailing one secretly, so we'll hopefully find what we need. Go spend the next week or so making yourselves useful, hard as that might be. "
[01:21] <@Relaizary> <-->
[01:22] <@Relaizary> "Umberlee is joyous tonight," speaks Alexandria, sombrely. The sky is black with clouds, and the rain pelts down like iron needles across the ship. Unfortunately, sailors know no rest, and the crew must stay busy. The captain has ordered everyone to keep watch, including his new passangers- and thus, everyone is getting suitably drenched, if not be the constant rain, then the occasionally large wave that splashes across the deck. It's freezing to boot, and the sky rumbles ominously...
[01:23] <@Relaizary> It's freezing to boot, and the sky rumbles ominously...
[01:24] * @Thrall stands near the ship's bow, his actual bow unfortunately stowed away due to the rain. Hopefully those druids won't be insane enough to attack in this weather, but then again... can't they control the weather?
[01:25] <@Relaizary> "We should be overtaking the merchants anytime soon," adds Alex, somehow remaining completely dry and unsoaked. His hat, it seems, catches all the water that would hit him- and it's not even that wide. "Visibility is bad, but keep an eye out- both for a ship, and for driftwood."
[01:25] * @Seraphin sighs softly, pushing soaked silver locks out of her face. "Good for her," she answers dryly, bright blood red eyes staring out into the night and storm. "If this is joyous, I'm glad I'm not seeing unhappy."
[01:25] * @Maz is ready for any druid mischief, almost eager to pit herself against those nature warshippers.
[01:26] <@Maz> "And an extra eye out for those sharks, right?" she chimes in.
[01:26] <@Relaizary> OOC: Spot checks all.
[01:26] <@Relaizary> "Aye! Kill 'em if you see 'em!"
[01:27] <@Thrall> roll 1d20
[01:27] * @Hatbot --> "Thrall rolls 1d20 and gets 5."12 [1d20=5]
[01:27] <@Seraphin> roll 1d20+8
[01:27] * @Hatbot --> "Seraphin rolls 1d20+8 and gets 26."12 [1d20=18]
[01:27] <@Relaizary> roll 1d20+4
[01:27] * @Hatbot --> "Relaizary rolls 1d20+4 and gets 17."12 [1d20=13]
[01:27] <@Maz> roll 1d20+2
[01:27] * @Hatbot --> "Maz rolls 1d20+2 and gets 4."12 [1d20=2]
[01:28] <@Relaizary> A crack of lightning echoes out through the night, briefly illuminating some distant part of the sea...
[01:28] <@Maz> "Water in this state of matter and myself do not mix well," Maz mutters to herself.
[01:29] <@Seraphin> "Speaking of sharks and driftwood..." Seraphin points out the moving shadows beneath the waves, and the floating debris.
[01:29] * @Maz doesn't waste time, before she has Mage Armor around herself, and then glances at Thrall with a raised eyebrow.
[01:30] <@Relaizary> Lucia looks miserable, huddling in a blue cloak on deck. As per usual, she stays almost right behind Maz, squinting into the distance.
[01:30] <@Thrall> Seeing Maz casting her spell, Thrall nods and moves over so she can do the same for him. "Thanks," he speaks over the driving rain, feeling exposed without his armour but not stupid enough to wear it at sea.
[01:31] * @Maz places a softly glowing hand to his shoulder, and then speaks for Lucia's benefit. "The Message spell has been of use to us many times in the past. Whisper if you need my help, and I shall be there."
[01:31] <@Relaizary> "Oi! This can't have happened too long ago!" yells Alex. "Which one of you feels like flying around?" She directs her question to Ingrid and Maz. Lucia nods, briefly.
[01:32] <@Maz> "Ready to go?" Maz asks Ingrid. "Need to cast anything before you do?"
[01:33] <@Relaizary> Ingrid shakes her head, but she yells at the rest of the ship- "Oi! What're we gonna do if we find them? Even if we blast 'em, you won't see a thing through the rain!"
[01:34] <@Relaizary> "If you both go, one of you can come back, and the other can make a start!" yells about Windriver. "Work something out!"
[01:34] <@Relaizary> The rain continues to pelt down, and even your hair is dripping in front of your eyes.
[01:35] <@Maz> "If we won't see them from afar, the same applies to the other side as well," Maz responds. "That's all there is about it. And we have Message on our side, if we need to coordinate."
[01:35] <@Relaizary> "Unless they whipped up the storm themselves," points out Ingrid, moodily.
[01:37] <@Relaizary> She looks miserable, too, but still wears a ridiculously skimpy- it's not an outfit, it's a costume- despite the driving rain.
[01:37] <@Maz> "Plan B is sit here and twiddle our thumbs," Maz points out. "It's your show, I'll follow your lead."
[01:37] <@Relaizary> "Fine, fine," she grumps, snapping her fingers and rising a few feet off the ground.
[01:37] <@Relaizary> A tiny pair of wings seem to glow at her heels, before fading, blocked out by the rain.
[01:38] <@Maz> Maz's hands flash through several seals, as arcane patterns cover her form, warring with each other for dominance. One protective layer after another comes over her, before seeping through her clothing and deeper, becoming a part of her magical core itself! A feather makes an appearance at last, and wind blasts around Maz in an even circle, as she rises off the deck herself.
[01:38] * @Seraphin just shakes her head at the spellslingers, giving her gear a last minute checkover and waiting.
[01:41] * @Thrall rests his hands on the ship's railing, dourly looking about in the bleak storm for any sign of their quarry. Although he has doubts as to who is the hunted, here...
[01:42] <@Relaizary> Windriver seems to share those same doubts. "MAybe this was a bad idea," he mutters. "Thing is, you can't tell if this storm is natural, or some foul creation..."
[01:44] * @Seraphin whistles sharply. "Humanoid shark like creature with a spear heading towards the bottom of the ship, the sharks are congregatin," she warns sharply, glowering. There isn't much she can do, she's shark bait supreme.
[01:45] <@Thrall> "Can't Alex ask Umberlee if anyone's playing with her?" Thrall asks Windriver before starting at Seraphin's words and looking over the edge to see if he can spot it.
[01:47] <@Relaizary> Alex lets loose a string of fluid swear words... sounds a little like Aquan, as she rushes to the side of the deck, peering overboard. "Humanoid? Shark?" she cries, frantically running back towards the deck! "Dammit, to the holds! Sahaugin, I'm sure of it!" Barely as the words escape her lips, there's an enourmous crash sounding from somewhere, and you can hear cries from down below!
[01:47] <@Thrall> "Hells!" Thrall roars, tearing off after Alex and unslinging his axe as he goes!
[01:48] <@Seraphin> "Ew," Seraphin winces, following quickly after Thrall, setting the opal into place on her gem shortsword before drawing the other.
[01:49] <@Relaizary> Below decks is cramped, and smells of blood! As you plunge into the dimly-lit cabins, you reach a room where water is rapidly filling up inside, and crewmen are scrambling to get out, blocking the way! A large hole lies in the side of the wall, water bursting in through it, and already crates and barrles are disrupted, lying about randomly! [01:50] <@Relaizary> The room is going to get very wet very quickly, but that's not all- three bizzare creatures, with scaly skin and webbed fingers crowd in the interior, looking perfectly at home! Wearing coral plate and carrying pearlescent tridents, they speak in a harsh tounge as Alex, Thrall, and Seraphin rush belowdecks! Dead men already spill about there, and unless something is patched up fast, that hole is going to let in too much water!

[01:54] <@Relaizary> One scores a blow on Thrall, beautiful, yet deadly trident seeping through unarmoured orcish flesh! It pulls out with a cry of vicious glee!
[01:55] <@Thrall> "Graaagh!" Thrall growls savagely, before crashing is axe right into the one that just wounded him!

[01:58] <@Relaizary> The second Sahaugin is brutally savaged, but nonetheless remains standing, though it's going to collapse in any moment!
[01:59] * @Seraphin ducks in past Thrall, steel blades flickering, slashing and peircing on their seemingly endless quest for blood and death!

[02:01] <@Relaizary> It plummets easily, dropping to join it's companion and swaying down the deck. "THE HOLE!" bellows Alex, striking forward with a notched falchion, striking towards the head of the third fish-man!
[02:01] <@Relaizary> roll 1d20

[02:02] <@Relaizary> But it stays standing, preparing to counterattack! Water floods in through the water, starting to build up and rise towards your knees- but it's not forcing you to wade, yet! More tridents glint through the hole, and another pair of Sahaugin emerge, belatedly realising the danger they are now in! Their companion strikes back at Alex, snarling something in it's hideous tounge!
[02:02] <@Relaizary> roll 1d20+8
[02:02] * @Hatbot --> "Relaizary rolls 1d20+8 and gets 9."12 [1d20=1]
[02:02] <@Relaizary> She neatly parries his trident with her oversized scimitar, snarling back curses in return!
[02:03] <@Thrall> "Back into the sea!" Thrall roars at the two Sahugin who just emerged, going to cut them down before they can make a nuisance of themselves!

[02:04] <@Relaizary> OOC: Miss.
[02:06] <@Seraphin> Seraphin ducks around, weaving between debris and coming up behind the creature locked in combat with the cleric of the boat, blade flickering and singing in the night, or maybe that's just her mind in joyous rapture at the spilling of life and blood.
[02:06] <@Seraphin> roll 1d20+9

[02:08] <@Relaizary> The third Sahaugin collapses on the ground, and Alex cires out a joyous battle-cry! You feel the tide of the sea rush through you, as she invokes the blessing of Umberlee upon the group!
[02:11] <@Relaizary> Yet Thrall finds himself in trouble! The Sahaugin that stands between him and the hole lunges for the unarmoured half-orc, attempting to pull him into a grapple! He's so slippery that he doesn't even give the orc an opening!
[02:11] <@Relaizary> roll 1d20+7

[02:14] <@Relaizary> But Thrall is able to boot a put in the Sahaugin, pushing off his clawed fingers with a vegeance! He can see other Sahaugin behind the hole- including one that wears magnificent plate mail, that doesn't seem to hinder movement at all! Yet water is filling up, here, and now the warriors are forced to wade, which impedes movement!
[02:15] <@Thrall> "Dammit, back you bastards!" Thrall yells against the torrent of water, swinging his axe at the Sahugin that just tried to grab him!

[02:17] <@Relaizary> The fish-man collapses on the spot, practically forced through the waves! The one behind it hisses at Thrall- and then there's another breaking sound from across the holds!
[02:20] <@Thrall> roll 1d20+6 for cleave
[02:20] * @Hatbot --> "Thrall rolls 1d20+6 for cleave and gets 15."12 [1d20=9]
[02:20] <@Relaizary> The fishman nearby parries your blow, however, settling in a defensive position for now!

[02:21] <@Thrall> roll 1d12+9
[02:21] * @Hatbot --> "Thrall rolls 1d12+9 and gets 17."12 [1d12=8]
[02:21] <@Relaizary> The second Sahaugin screams in a reedy voice, but nonetheless remains standing, preventing people from reaching the hole in the wall!
[02:22] * @Seraphin growls as she can't manage to get at vulnerable places from this position, but none the less lashes out with a flurry of blades at the creature from her angle, trying to press it back and tear it apart!
[02:22] <@Relaizary> "THEY'RE CLIMBING ON THE DECKS! ALL MEN TO ARMS!"

[02:26] <@Relaizary> Nonetheless, it manages to stay out the way of your weapons, while Alexandria hurls a bitter curse at the creature, and lashes out with her grim falchion!

[02:26] * @Hatbot --> "Relaizary rolls 1d20 and gets 11."12 [1d20=11]
[02:28] <@Relaizary> Yet she misses nonetheless, and now, the Sahaugin in the hold makes way for the coral-plated creature! Holding a falchion all-too-similar to the one Alexandria carries, it lets loose a roar of challenge! The two creatures attack, the weakened one Alex, the plated one Thrall!
[02:28] <@Relaizary> roll 1d20+8

[02:29] <@Relaizary> Yet both manage to miss their opponents! Perhaps the almost waist-high water is getting in their way, as well?
[02:30] <@Thrall> "Die, you waterspawned bastards!" Thrall glares hatefully at the pair, retaliating against the plate-wearing fishman that so foolishly attacked him!
[02:30] <@Thrall> roll 1d20+10 (-2 power attack)

[02:31] <@Relaizary> It responds with a fishlike burble, and your blade clangs off it's tinted armour!
[02:32] <@Seraphin> Not seeing an opportunity still, Seraphin continues her onslaught of smaller blades, idly wishing she was more effective in a straight up fight.
[02:32] <@Seraphin> roll 1d20+7

[02:38] <@Relaizary> She expertly mutilates the beast, and it topples to the ground! The whole room smells of blood, and hungry sharks swim hurriedly near the hole!
[02:40] <@Relaizary> The lone sahaugin champion roars challenge, howling in a terrible frenzy! The water is almost waist high, further impeding the movements of Thrall and Seraphin- while alex and the creature go unaffected!

[02:41] <@Relaizary> A pair of utterly savage blows cleave through Thrall's defenseless flesh, carving him apart in an orgasm of blood and gore!
[02:43] <@Thrall> "Graaagh!" Thrall roars in pain, staggering back a half step before he retaliates with a frenzied attack, aiming to slice the Sahugin's sword into scrap before finishing off the fishman!

[02:49] <@Relaizary> The mighty falchion shatters under Thrall's handiwork, leaving behind a Sahaugin with no weapons in his hands! A short sword hangs on it's belt, but it's hardly a mighty weapon suitable for a 1-on-three fight...
[02:50] <@Relaizary> A brutal blow follows after Thrall's attack, carving a chunk of flesh out of his skin! It hisses in terrible rage!
[02:50] * @Seraphin ducks around to the other side of the plate armored fishman, her single opal empowered blade flickering this time, in between the cracks of his armor, fishing for vital organs to spread across the hull.

[02:53] <@Relaizary> Another blow neatly severs the head of the beast, and it topples over, one of now-many fishlike corpses in the hold!
[02:54] <@Seraphin> "Now how do we stop the hole?!" Seraphin yells over the rush of water, looking to the people who have experience with this.
[02:54] <@Thrall> "Do something about that damn hole!" Thrall roars now that the immediate danger is finished, grabbing hold of the armoured corpse and dragging it as he wades back the way they came. Hopefuly Alex has a spell, but if not then the crewmen will have to repair it, which'll be hard with as much water has already gotten in.
[02:56] <@Relaizary> Alex rushes through the water, magic spilling off her lips! The hole mends itself like living wood, and while the water remains in the hold, it finally stops pouring in like a fountain!
[02:57] * @Thrall lets go of the corpse now there's no danger of it being flooded out into the sea again, promptly downing three of his cure potions.

[02:58] * @Seraphin jsut starts moving up towards the deck, where she might be more needed.
[03:00] * @Thrall hurries after Seraphin once he's healed himself!
[03:01] <@Relaizary> On the deck, you hear cries of victory! Captain Windrider exhorts his men as they kick Sahaugin off the boat, the creatures leaping off as they're mastered by an efficient pirate and his crew! Yet, there are still corpses on the decks, and you can see lights in the distance, along with repeated flashes of lightning...
[03:02] <@Thrall> Seeing that the initial boarding has been repelled... "Seraphin, help me with that thing's armour!" Thrall urgently requests of his companion. "We don't have much time before we engage the other ship!" With that, he turns and returns to the hold!
[03:02] <@Seraphin> "RIght!" Seraphin agrees, hopping back down. It had an interesting looking shortsword, too!
[03:04] <@Relaizary> "FUCKING HELL, hurry the FUCK back up here!" snarls Windrider, as the two of you rush below decks!
[03:04] <@Seraphin> "Just go ahead and close in!" Seraphin yells back. "We'll be ready in time!"
[03:05] <@Thrall> "Oh, Hells... hope I don't regret this later," Thrall growls. "Forget it, Seraphin. You never disobey the captain on a ship." With that, he returns to the deck, bereft of magical armour of underwater action!
[03:06] * @Seraphin just rolls her eyes, to herself. People and the sea, such a strange combination.
[03:07] <@Relaizary> You can see a pair of lightning bolts, one after the other- strike something floating about the lights in the distance! More clearly now, you see a ship- a ship that heads straight towards you!
[03:08] * @Seraphin keeps mental count on her opal, waiting on the enemy boat.
[03:08] * @Thrall rushes to the edge of the deck, tensely waiting for the boarding action...
[03:09] * @Seraphin takes the opal out for the moment, , kept in her left hand as she waits with Thrall.
[03:16] <@Relaizary> The ships near each other- you can see the other's figurehead, now, a great shark! Crewmen around you tense, nervously, as Windrider starts exhorting his crew once more.. "We've faced worse than this scum! We'll sink the whole fucking ship if we have to- they ain't going to win, no matter what dirty shit they pull! Shark-loving scum!"
[03:17] * @Thrall needs no exhortation, only readying himself for the carnage to come...
[03:17] <@Seraphin> "Next time - catapults and jars of acid!" Seraphin suggests as the idea hits out of nowhere, otherwise just waiting for the bloodbath.
[03:19] * @Thrall decides to take his last potion now, since the fighting's about to get a lot more intense. Beside, these things are cheap.

[01:39] <Relaizary> Ingrid and Al'Maz take off from the boat. "Stay close!" yells Ingrid, floating just next to you. "It'll be hard to talk during.. this!" She starts flying in the direction the ship is going, scanning ahead for... something.
[01:42] * @Maz keeps reasonably close to Ingrid, as requested, adding her own magical senses to the task.
[01:44] <@Relaizary> "Over there!" shouts Ingrid, pointing towards the distance- lights, far away, and what appears to be a mast! You're only five-hundred feet away from it, but you've travelled about half that much from your own ship! It's coming straight for you!
[01:46] <@Maz> "I'll follow your lead, circumstances allowing," Maz replies, using the message's magical advantage to convey her words. "Pick a target, I'll be there."
[01:48] <@Relaizary> "Alright," she replies, swooping towards the ship. "What range have you got on your spells?"
[01:53] <@Maz> "One-fifty feet is a given, for most of them," Maz tells her. "Some shorter-ranged."
[01:56] <@Relaizary> "Ditto. We won't be able to pick many targets from that range, though," she hisses. "Not much point setting fire to the ship, either, the rain'll just put it out."
[01:57] <@Maz> "I reinstate my desire to hurt one of the druids before returning, even if it means setting said druid on fire."
[01:58] <@Relaizary> "The trouble will be picking them out. If we get too close, they might hit *us*." As if for effect, another lightning bolt crashes down from the sky, blasting the water somewhere near.
[01:59] <@Maz> "They cooperate," Maz muses out loud. "Look for a trio near each other, likely, and dressed the same? And as druids, armor of most kinds would be forbidden for them, yet another way to distinguish the druids."
[02:00] <@Relaizary> "Trio, sure, but most people don't wear armour on the seas," points out Ingrid. "Let's split up and circle around- we're less likely to be noticed if we're a pair.
[02:00] <@Maz> "Done," Maz agrees, converging on the ship from the other direction.

[02:05] * +Hatbot --> "Maz rolls 1d20+2 and gets 7."12 [1d20=5]
[02:06] <@Relaizary> Maz, unfortunately, can't make out any particular trio on the ship! She can see plenty of individuals rushing about, as well as hanging from the rigging, and one person on the crow's nest!
[02:06] * @Maz settles to wait for Ingrid to target someone, as they decided.
[02:07] * @Maz is ready to go whenever it happens.

[02:10] <@Relaizary> A flicker of flame echoes from the other side of the ship, and a great fiery sphere streaks out from somewhere in the rain, landing on the deck! It rolls through the crew, unaffected by the rain, and you can hear cries of pain from the boat!
[02:17] <@Maz> Picking a convenient window as her target, Maz clenches her fist, letting it be shrouded by an angry, blue flame. She thrusts her fiery hand at the window, and the spherical flame leaves its perch, sent flying deep into the ship's bowels!
[02:18] <@Relaizary> The streak of fire flashes through the ship, setting the interior alight! More cries are heard from within! Even as people scatter away from the ball on deck, though, many look towards the skies, shouting and pointing to something across the decks!
[02:19] <@Relaizary> : 1d20+4, 7 , Total: 11
[02:19] <@Relaizary> A massive stroke of lightning blasts out where Ingrid might be, and you think you can see her form shadowed in the light!

[02:24] * @Maz decides to make a flyover next to the crow's nest, to try and see the druids better from close by, as well as to summon a monster to wreck havoc on the pirate ship's deck.
[02:24] <@Relaizary> roll 1d20+4
[02:24] * +Hatbot --> "Relaizary rolls 1d20+4 and gets 14."12 [1d20=10]

[02:25] * +Hatbot --> "Maz rolls 1d20+2 and gets 20."12 [1d20=18]
[02:27] <@Relaizary> Maz can't see any trio of creatures- but she can see one.. man, dressed in armour made of... red-tinted wood. Goat horns stick out his forehead, which remains a distinct red colour, and animal- and human- skulls adorn his person. But are they affectations, or are those horns and that skin part of his true body?
[02:29] <@Maz> There is no point in lighting her candle, Maz muses. Certainly not in this weather. She opts for holding it next to her face, glaring at it with her unnatural blue eyes, her short aquamarine hair flapping at the wind. A twirl of her fingers, and the candle disappears back into her pouch of components, a small bag replacing it in Maz's hand. She takes aim at the freak who must be one of the druids down on the deck, and throws the bag at him, chanting the holy words to summon a Celestian Bison to her cause, right on top of her enemy!

[02:33] <@Maz> "I think that's one of them," Maz says through the magical link to Ingrid. "The one I dropped a bison on."
[02:33] <@Relaizary> "They've spotted me," hisses Ingrid. "Those lightning bolts- they could rip straight through my defenses! They seen you?"
[02:34] <@Maz> "We shall know in a moment," Maz responds, flying back to the one-fifty feet distance.
[02:35] <@Relaizary> OOC: Current init order is Maz=Ingrid=Bison>People On Ship
[02:35] <@Relaizary> OOC: We didn't roll init, I admit, but does that work for you?
[02:35] <@Maz> OOC: Sure
[02:36] <@Relaizary> Another flash of red light streaks out from where Ingrid is, another ball starting to roll across the decks! But the man who got hit by a Bison runs out the way of it, and swears at the sky, causing another bolt to peel through the air- this time, right on Ingrid!

[02:38] <@Maz> "Retreat," Maz tells Ingrid urgently, waiting for an answer.
[02:39] <@Relaizary> "Ugh, yeah, I brought a potion, I'll be fine," you hear, alongside ragged breaths...
[02:41] * @Maz scowls, and doesn't let her eyes leave the villain in the skull-adorned armor! Her lips touch upon her index and middle fingers, already moisty with rain, and a trio of bolts shoots out at him, just as the bison readies himself for another goring attack!

One wears no armour at all, a woman who looks.. familiar.. sporting similar blue hair, but far gaunter than you. Her hands curl into claws as she sees the bison and the flaming spheres. By her side stands a hellish persona, a bizzare figure with half of his face melted off! A great tiger crouches next to him, and he holds a massive wooden club that oozes black ichor.

[03:22] <@Relaizary> The ships are going to graze each other as they get close! "EVERYONE! HOLD ON TO SOMETHING!" bellows Windrider, drawing a wicked rapier and bellowing threats at the opposition! Alex enchants herself with.. something.. and Ingrid and Maz buzz about the enemy ship, ready to unleash powerful spells!
[03:22] * @Seraphin follows the instructions, ready for some kind of crashing insanity before they board.
[03:23] * @Thrall grabs onto the railing, familiar with the drill. "Here we go..."
[03:24] <@Relaizary> All three of the druids on the ship have formed a circle, and they're staring at the ship as it approaches, trying to ignore the two pesky mages buzzing about them!
[03:26] <@Maz> "Three druids, all tieflings," Maz tells the others now within range of her Message spell. "The man in the red wooden armor is pretty beaten up. The blue-haired woman with the fiery hands and the man with the club are fresh, but I think the latter used up most or all of his spells."
[03:27] <@Relaizary> Ingrid unleashes a trio of magical bolts from high up, spiraling towards the man in red armour!
[03:27] <@Relaizary> roll 3d4+3

[03:27] <@Reikobot> 1,0Relaizary rolls :1,0 2d8+5 --> 12,0[ 2d8=13 ]12,0{18}
[03:28] * @Maz does a flyby of the enemy ship, flying at less than forty feet as she crushes a bit of butter in her left fist, letting it drop all over the deck.
[03:31] <@Relaizary> roll 1d20+6
[03:31] <@Relaizary> roll 1d20+1

[03:33] <@Relaizary> The woman, with fiery hands manages to stay upright, yet the club-wielding man slips and falls on the greasy substance! The other two look decidedly annoyed, and both of them try and grab onto nearby handholds!
[03:33] <@Relaizary> The ships SMASH into each other, clipping the sides and sending splinters and dust flying everywhere! With a horrible grinding sound, the two watercraft are adjacent, and grasping onto handholds, everyone struggles to keep their balance!
[03:34] <@Relaizary> roll 1d20+3 Team Tiefling

[03:36] <@Relaizary> Instantly, the enemy crew surges forward! The druidic circle broken by a greasy spell, they nonetheless yell commands out, as the large man tries to pick himself up from the grease and move out the way!
[03:36] <@Relaizary> roll 1d20
[03:36] <@Reikobot> 1,0Relaizary rolls :1,0 1d20 --> 12,0[ 1d20=8 ]12,0{8}
[03:37] <@Relaizary> Yet he stumbles again, his companions cursing! With a roar, the woman and the red-armoured man yell for their creatures to attack! A huge tiger and a huge wolf surge into Ravage along with the rest of the crew, like a giant wave! The rain pelts down, and soon the stench of blood runs hot through the air!
[03:38] <@Relaizary> The tiger leaps towards Thrall, while the wolf leaps towards Windriver, both lashing out with bites and claws!

[03:39] <@Relaizary> The tiger inflicts an injury on Thrall, the wild bites of a bloodthirsty animal tearing his flesh apart!
[03:41] <@Relaizary> A blast of flame from the outstretched hand of the woman flashes towards Maz, while the other druid summons a great blade of fire, preparing himself to wade through! The club-wielding one stays futilely on the ground!
[03:41] <@Relaizary> roll 1d20+7

[03:43] * @Thrall spits out a curse before retaliating with a series of savage blows against the wild beast!
[03:43] <@Relaizary> It smashes into her side, yet she is mostly protected thanks to her tiefling resistance!

[03:44] <@Relaizary> The tiger recoils at Thrall's flurry of blows, almost losing a rear leg and definately losing part of it's chest! Yet bestial fury keeps it upright!
[03:46] <@Seraphin> Using the confusion and distraction of the battlefield, Seraphin's blades whip out at the tiger's vulnerable flanks!
[03:46] <@Seraphin> roll 1d20+11

[03:47] <@Relaizary> Seraphin's blades neatly cleave apart the tiger's heart! It collapses to the deck of the ship, an incongruity amongst the trappings of seamanship!
[03:47] * @Maz snarls at the fire before she whips out another wand, the one she took as a prize off Juan, and swoops down from the skies to target the prone druid with the club!

[03:50] <@Relaizary> He actually manages it, stumbling outside the raidus of grease! Yet he still lifts his club menacingly, gripping it tightly in two hands! Perhaps he had more strength than a normal man could to begin with? Either way, he charges towards Thrall! The fire-wielding woman casts another spell, summoning a lion, of all things onto the deck, while red-armoured, goat-horned man flings a blue gem from his coat onto the ground! A great watery.. thing rises up from the deck, seemingly melding and formed by the rain!
[03:51] <@Relaizary> roll 1d20+9

[03:51] <@Reikobot> 1,0Relaizary rolls :1,0 1d10+4 --> 12,0[ 1d10=4 ]12,0{8}
[03:52] <@Relaizary> The huge club whacks Thrall in the chest, but the blow isn't as hard as it could've possibly been. Yet, it still bruises, and bones are broken! The lion and the water elemental, as one, lunge towards Alex, who is forced on the defensive with her falchion!
[03:53] <@Relaizary> The club-wielding.. no, it must be a tiefling- the half-melted face and the ichor-dripping club confirm it! Black stains form on the wooden planks below Thrall, and practically dissolve the dead wood in an instant! Heaven knows what will occur if he applies the weapon proper against the ship, but his mind is on other things, right now...
[03:53] * @Maz makes another overpass, waving Juan's wand at the club-using tiefling's back once again.
[03:53] <@Maz> roll 1d20+8

[03:54] <@Reikobot> 1,0Thrall rolls :1,0 1d12+10 --> 12,0[ 1d12=2 ]12,0{12}
[03:55] <@Relaizary> The tiefling screams as Thrall's axe savages him, and he retreats back a step, perhaps looking to move out the field o combat!
[03:55] <@Maz> "Not so strong now, are you, Zassy?" Maz calls out, following with a melodical laugh as she soars back into the skies.
[03:56] * @Seraphin follows up Thrall's assault, flickering blades again joining the bloodhsed as she presses the man he so greviously wounded!
[03:56] <@Seraphin> roll 1d20+11
[03:56] <@Reikobot> 1,0Seraphin rolls :1,0 1d20+11 --> 12,0[ 1d20=17 ]12,0{28}

[03:58] <@Relaizary> The club-man teeters off the edge of the deck, screaming in pain as Seraphin cuts out his life! He collapses back on his own ship, as the two druids there snarl in true anger! The woman glances at Maz, as she flies around, and then angrily rushes towards Seraphin, hands flickering with deadly fire as she unleashes a flying kick that would do a monk proud- even across the swaying deck!
[03:58] <@Relaizary> roll 1d20+10
[03:58] <@Reikobot> 1,0Relaizary rolls :1,0 1d20+10 --> 12,0[ 1d20=8 ]12,0{18}
[04:00] <@Relaizary> Yet it barely grazes Seraphin through her armour, and the woman lands in a crouch, fire dancing across her legs and fingertips! She bears fangs at the other tiefling- the other one decides to hang back for a moment, before rushing towards the woman herself and casting a spell directly on her!
[04:01] <@Relaizary> roll 2d6+2+5
[04:01] <@Reikobot> 1,0Relaizary rolls :1,0 2d6+2+5 --> 12,0[ 2d6=8 ]12,0{15}
[04:01] * @Seraphin snarls back, baring her fangs at her 'fellow', as far as categories go. She doesn't hesitate though, blades flashing and diving for the thing with bloodthirsty demands!
[04:01] <@Seraphin> roll 1d20+11
[04:01] <@Relaizary> Even so, the kick breaks a rib and sears across Seraphin's chest- despite only doing a little damage, thanks to her innate resistance!
[04:01] <@Reikobot> 1,0Seraphin rolls :1,0 1d20+11 --> 12,0[ 1d20=20 ]12,0{31}

[04:02] <@Reikobot> 1,0Seraphin rolls :1,0 5d6+12 --> 12,0[ 5d6=15 ]12,0{27}
[04:03] <@Relaizary> The woman screams in pure agony as Seraphin's counter-blow literally rocks her world!
[04:03] <@Relaizary> A slight breeze would take her out!
[04:03] <@Thrall> With both the tieflings making themselves such convenient targets, Thrall takes a few steps to the one that Seraphin so artfully maimed, ebony axe singing through the driving rain with deadly intent!
[04:03] <@Thrall> roll 1d20+12 (-2 power attack)
[04:03] <@Reikobot> 1,0Thrall rolls :1,0 1d20+12 1,0(-2 power attack) --> 12,0[ 1d20=18 ]12,0{30}

[04:04] <@Thrall> roll 1d20+12 (-2 power attack) for cleave
[04:04] <@Reikobot> 1,0Thrall rolls :1,0 1d20+12 1,0(-2 power attack) for cleave --> 12,0[ 1d20=4 ]12,0{16}
[04:07] <@Relaizary> Your first blow decapitates the woman, fires guttering out her hands as Thrall finishes the job Seraphin started! The other druid, though, backs off just a step out the way of Thrall! Glancing at his two dead companions, he swears, to the driving rain.. 4"Even death will not stop us!"
[04:08] * @Maz does an elaborate dance in the skies above, her arms flashing like a conductor's. She follows up on her earlier attacks against the druid with the wooden armor with a volley of magic missiles, the wand Linda entrusted to her flashing in the stormy sky.
[04:08] <@Maz> roll 2d4+2
[04:08] <@Reikobot> 1,0Maz rolls :1,0 2d4+2 --> 12,0[ 2d4=5 ]12,0{7}
[04:09] <@Relaizary> He flinches from your blows, but runs out of the range of Thrall and Seraphin! He dives right off his ship, plummeting into the raging sea below!
[04:09] <@Maz> "Death will stop you," Maz calls after him with scorn. "You just wait!"
[04:11] <@Relaizary> With the loss of the leaders- and their summons, too- Windrider's crew is waxing victorious! The battle after these events seems short, lasting only a few minutes before all the enemy crew is either dead or incapacitated! Blood spills freely on the decks below, and two-dozen men shout in victory as the rain slowly begins to ablate...
[04:13] * @Seraphin cleans ehr blades on a wet scrap of cloth from a dead man's clothing, detaching the opal before sheathing them again. "Looting time!" she breathes to herself, beginning to search the ship.
[04:13] * @Maz touches down on the deck lightly, once the fighting is over.
[04:14] * @Thrall lets the driving rain wash his axe of its accumulated ichor and gore, sagging a bit in relief now that it's over. Took quite a few nasty hits, there. Especially from that Sahugin with the falchion...
[04:15] <@Seraphin> roll 1d20+12
[04:15] <@Reikobot> 1,0Seraphin rolls :1,0 1d20+12 --> 12,0[ 1d20=17 ]12,0{29}
[04:16] * @Maz examines the enemy ship and especially her two fallen cousins with her magical sight.
[04:17] <@Relaizary> The two fallen cousins are... missing? Their gear is here; their clothes are stained with blood, the ichor-exuding club seeps through the deck, yet no physical bodies remain.
[04:17] * @Thrall blinks and looks down. He was standing right over them... "Did they melt?"
[04:18] <@Maz> "Oh for crying out loud!" Maz exclaims. "Those losers, so much hate, welling inside--"
[04:19] * @Maz continues muttering about their stupidity and the many exhibitions of it.
[04:19] <@Relaizary> In any case, the club is obviously magical, and necromantic, too. He also wears an amulet- an amulet all-too-similar to the one that Seraphin gained what seems an age ago. The woman is wearing a necklace that radiates transmutation, as well as boots that radiate evocation. Both are carrying a pair of vials, all of which emit necromancy.
[04:20] <@Maz> "Creepy, as expected," Maz comments, covering them up in a blanket to avoid touching them for the time being.
[04:21] <@Relaizary> Below decks, Seraphin finds a prize- a bag of pearls! There's at least a dozen here! Other crew members are ripping through the decks, and taking practically everything not nailed down, but you can't see anything as valuable as this...
[04:21] * @Thrall heads back down below decks. Everyone else is looting, so he can at least get that plate mail of underwater action...
[04:22] * @Seraphin looks inconspicuous, something she's done often before, holding tightly to the bag of pearls, she joins in the wanton looting and grabbing, mostly to fit in as she makes her back towards the deck.
[04:22] <@Relaizary> Sadly, the plate mail here isn't going to fit Thrall. It's built for people who have fishier bodies than he.
[04:22] <@Thrall> Could a competent blacksmith remedy this, Thrall wonders.
[04:22] <@Relaizary> Perhaps, if making it really hot and then bashing it with a hammer won't disturb the enchantments.
[04:23] <@Thrall> Those enchantments are usually built to last! If nothing else, it could be sold on. With that in mind, Thrall strips the corpse and bundles up his share of the loot before returning to the deck.
[04:24] <@Thrall> Recalling what Seraphin said earlier, he also grabs its sword. Maz can tell if it's worth anything.
<Steph> I might have made a terrible mistake
