I thought it might be amusing to compile a list of various things whether it be a specific game, minigame, system mechanic, Cutscenes, or control scheme that is such a piece of crap that it goes beyond bad into depths of awfulness that would have been beter left unexplored.

So here we go a Wall of Shame for various parts of various video games.

My inclusion:

1. The item creation system of Star Ocean 3. This system was terrible! It felt and worked like it was only 75% finished and still needed to get through beta.

Not only was the time spent trying to create a item tedious and boring, you actually had to pay attention to it, least your workers get tired or you make to many of a item.

What was even worse was that there was no consistency, not even a option where once you discover a product you can tryt o create the same oen again. No you just had to start with the same amount of raw materials and pray you got the same item again.  Considering that the SO3 item creation system was pretty much the ONLY way to get anything beyond the most basic recovery items, this is absolutly unforgivble.

This system was so bad it literally ruined the game for me and I quit playing out of sheer disgust.  Thus it earns a place in the wall of shame.

2. The multiple charcters of Crono Cross.

Now let it eb known I loathe Crono cross. I'll admit on its own its a pretty average game, but as a sequel to Crono Trigger its terrible. Perosnally I would have prefered a game following Crono and crew searching for hsi mom (Perhaps also exploreing about the 'creature' they speculated created the time portals....)

The key point was the sheer number of recruitable charcters... over 80? Far to many, especially when over half of them HAVE no back story (Oh look lets check out the cemetary! Wow a wrestler has joined your party!) I didn't even get midway throught he game before they sort of all blended together into BLAH....

Multiple charcters to recruit, interesting idea. Multiple charcters with No backstory and pretty much no differnce between them battle wise... Bad.

80 of said charcters that are essentialy interchangble with little to no back story? Terrible idea.

Dexie Oblivion

Chrono Cross only had 44 characters, I thought?

Anyway, my inclusion to this list? Fishing minigames.

Ugh, they're usually not fun and usually don't give a worthwhile reward.

And when they're required to continue the story makes it even worse. (Looking at you Okami, Breath of Fire. >_>)
Pet my snake, pet my ssssnaaaake. :P

Dracos

Indeed.

Albeit, as much as  Okami's was tiresome... it strangely was a pretty good mapping of the experience that many folks go fishing for.  Some easy simple fish and then fish that fight you all the way to the boat, yanking line out whenever you are weak and being a battle to get  out of the water.  I wasn't really LOOKING for that experience, but by and large, they do deserve kudos for pretty much capturing it.

I spent at least half my time in swordcraft so far fishing.  I really could do without it and just be able to BUY the things without trading fishing points for them.

Well, Goodbye.
