I wonder about many things
Standing alone in the dark

I stand here seeing people walk by...
(and wonder why I am not with them)

I watch as love blossoms between them...
(and wonder why it isn't me)

I marvel as a child is born...
(and wonder if I'll ever have one)

I observe as they grow old...
(and wonder when I will)

I see death come to claim them...
(and wonder when I am next)

And above all I wonder,

Why am I...
