Since she doesn't have the ability to open the door outside of trying to brute force it open, Ithea casts Detect Magic and tries to examine the runes and possibly figure out a way to turn them off or set them to cool again.

3 more fire damage to all but Muirfinn. This isn't enough to warrant a Concentration check, as you'll auto pass it.

But Ithea is able to work past the burning pain, ignoring the scorching of her skin, slowly progressing. She thinks the runes could be dispelled, but you'd need to find the source of them. Studying them, you can tell they're just extensions of the main source of the enchantment - which, interestingly, you can follow and tell it's somewhere past the door to the right. Once there, you could dispel it or perhaps UMD it or disable device, it'll depend on how exactly its set up.

"Look," Sylvie calls as she grimaces, skin reddening, "We need to move or fall back, before we end up baked alive."

Failing that though, we definitely should retreat then," Ithea explains her findings as she starts backtracking to the other hallway, casting a disintegrate at the right door as it comes into view, deciding not to waste any time on it.

Few things. First of all, reroll since your damage is wrong. The version in the SC (which trumps the CD version) is 1d8 per level, to a max of 10d8. Secondly, just tell me the book next time instead of telling me to look in chat. Easier for me.

Between Muirfinn's spell and Ithea's disintegration, the door disintegrates, even as the party is basted in heat. As you sizzle, you see ahead. Pure, pitch black darkness that Ithea and Lief can't see through. However, Muirfin's true seeing allows him to see through. This room is full of runes like the previous room, as well as silver orbs that hang in the air. They float a few feet off the ground and sizzle in the heat. But that's not the problem. The problem is that there are a dozen erinyes standing there, bows ready.

At the same time Sylvie's eyes widen, "Look-" she begins, before waves of greasy, sickening darkness envelope the party, save for Lief, who is still hanging back.
