My Otome/ZWEI/0~S.ifr Discussion Thread ~Spoilers~

I've just finished the episode 23 raw as well.

I think this episode proves without a shadow of a doubt that Mai > everyone else. Then again, that may simply be my fanboyism talking.

It felt so very, very good to see Mai and Mikoto and hear Mai Nakahara and Ai Shimizu again. I'd actually forgotten how close to the end of the show and how very little action had taken place within this episode until after I'd watched it. Good, solid stuff. The revelations were, well, revealed, I guess. >_>

It isn't as though they were great shockers, though the link between Mashiro and Fumi seems like an interesting plot point that won't get nearly the developement it deserves.

Was it just me or was Mai in the perfect "big sister" role this time around? She even got the best out-of-uniform outfit. I'm definately glad she didn't end up in Arika's short-short skirt deal.

As for the HiME mark... weren't they callinh her by the same title Mashiro had during Hime? I think it was the Obsidian Princess or something to that effect. It makes me wonder if this is a deliberate link between the two series or just another nod. You know, like the way the Black Valley landscape looks like Original Mikoto's element tore it up.

The next episode looks like Arika gets more training in. I'm wondering when those other pillars from the opening are going to show up. Hell, maybe they won't and we'll get a third season!

... What? Miracles do happen. And with Nina and that whole rather offputting pedo-loli-incest triangle pushed to the side the show has gotten a lot more watchable lately.

Just figured I'd note it here... apparently the 2006-05 issue of Megami Magazine is set to announce a four volume My Otome OVA series.

I demand that it be about the past of the My Otome world as told thru the eyes of Miyu! There's certainly more than enough material to work with anyway if you ask me. @_@

May as well comment on the remainder of the series. Overall I enjoyed it. I do not think it has as many high points as it's predecessor, My HiME, but I honestly consider the series to be more solid overall in terms of its overall structure.

Anyways I recommend the series overall. It's not that great but it's hardly the worst thing in the world. I'd ultimately place it as slightly above average.

Just finished Zwei, which was about 100x more satisfying than the ending of the tv series.

They're going to milk the otome world for all its worth, but I can't really blame them. They didn't write themselves into a corner the way they did hime.

But I want more MAI! And Haruka.

I do wonder how closely this new series/ova is going to follow the Otome Destiny light novel. From the tiny little preview it looks like a prequel involving Arika's mother.

Also, Eris-chan nods all over the place! I burst out laughing in a dramatic moment because of the VA joke that got tossed in there. She didn't get killed off again, either!
