038.2 Ithea and the Stones of Shame

[19:56] <Kotono> It is early evening now. Ithea is practicing, weaving magic about her. As she works along, stringing together weaves of pure incandescent magery, "Ithea?" Elena pops into being besides her.
[19:57] <Ithea> "Yes, Elena?"
[19:59] <Kotono> Elena is clad in a short dress and has a glass of what looks to be fizzy champaign in her hand, "Hi! See, Sylvie'n'Balyss'n'Simmer are getting a  reunion party together, plus they're planning Misalea's wedding party too, and since the planning is becoming a party too, they thought you'd like to come!" She smiles ear to ear, downing her champaign in a gulp. "Want to come?" In a faux
[19:59] <Kotono> whisper, "They're also talking about some treasure Simmer heard about in Fire."
[20:01] * Ithea smiles. "Sure, sounds fun. Where are they all at?"
[20:05] <Kotono> "Cafeteria," Elena burbles, "See you there!" She winks away, laughing.
[20:08] * Ithea nods, as she heads towards the cafeteria.
[20:11] <Kotono> Noise. So much noise! The cafeteria is filled! Hundreds of people are here, music loud. Everyone's drinking and talking, clusters of people. Standing atop a table near the middle of it is Balyss, in a short skirt and tunic, a tankard in her hand. She takes a heavy drink, swinging it around, "Alright!" Pointing towards Ithea, "General Ithea is here, so let's really get this started! You
[20:11] <Kotono> there!" she points at one of the cloud giants, "Bring Ithea here, and you," Pointing down to someone nearby you can't see, "Get Ithea something really good to drink!"
[20:11] <Kotono> "Ithea!" Dozens of voices call that, though amid it you think you hear Sylvie. Somewhere. Maybe.
[20:14] <Ithea> "They weren't kidding about this being a party!" Ithea says, laughing and smiling as she waves at people, moving closer to the middle table to greet the current party's hostess/organizer.
[20:18] <Kotono> As you approach, Ithea is grabbed! The cloud giant lifts her up and brings her over to Balyss's table, over the crowd! Sitting at the table is Sylvie and Simmer, sharing a bottle of something brown and boozy between them. Balyss leaps down and virtually tackles Ithea, hugging her tight. "Ithea, glad you could make it!" The scent of ale is strong on her breath, as Sylvie gets up and pours
[20:18] <Kotono> two shot glasses full. As Balyss parts, "Start with these, then sit on down! We're about to see giant-pixie shotput, then we'll get to business."
[20:21] * Ithea gives the cloud giant that foisted her up a quick weak slap on the hands, with a small admonishing frown before she's grabbed in a hug. Turning the frown back into a smile, she asks, "Giant-pixie shotput? What's that?"
[20:21] <Kotono> "It was my idea to invite her," Sylvie protests, "I wanted you here earlier, but Balyss was all like it would stay intimiate and quiet." She laughs after, slapping Balyss's shoulder.
[20:21] <Kotono> "Well," Balyss hops onto the table, "Up here! I'll show you!"
[20:23] * Ithea grabs one of the glasses that Sylvie poured and drinks it in one gulp. "This is quiet?" Ithea asks with a laugh.
[20:27] <Kotono> "It didn't start this way," Balyss waves a hand, "Don't worry about it!" It's strong and goes down smooth, hitting Ithea hard. Sylvie offers her the other shot, and in a mock whisper, "If you think this is bad, wait until Balyss gets drunk enough to dance naked."
[20:27] <Kotono> "Hey!" Balyss calls down, stomping a foot, "I don't do that! Except that one time!"
[20:27] <Kotono> Simmer laughs, swishing her shotglass and sipping it. "It's always that one time, isn't it? The exception that proves the rule?"
[20:31] * Ithea laughs alongside all of them. "Well, I'm sure Balyss will work hard to keep proving you wrong. Even if all the boys around here will keep hoping she doesn't."
[20:34] <Kotono> "Or girls the way it goes around here," Sylvie smirks, going back to sit. "Y'know, it was like that back in Balmuria a bit, too. When the hell did that become normal?" Meanwhile Balyss laughs, "C'mon up, Ithea! C'mon! They're getting ready!"
[20:35] <Kotono> Simmer shrugs, "You worry about it too much. Burn what should be burned, sleep when you wish to sleep, love who you wish to love. You humans make such a big ado about courtships. Worry about more important things, like fire."
[20:38] * Ithea goes join Balyss atop the table, just to see what all the fuss is about this giant-pixie shotput.
[20:40] <Kotono> Balyss grins and concentrates, another tankard appearing into hand. She shoves it into Ithea's hands, as she points with her own tankard. At the far end of the cafeteria a 10ft by 10ft tub has been set up. From here, you can tell it's full of what looks to be ale. "The giants take a pixie and toss it. If they hit the tub, they win and the pixie gets to drink as much ale in there as they
[20:40] <Kotono> want. If they miss, the Jarl heals the pixie for free and the giant has to carry the Galuh Stone of the Defeated all night."
[20:41] <Kotono> "See," Sylvie grins, "This is the sort of thing Balyss here thinks of when she gets drunk. She's a menace to Aurora," Falling into giggles as Balyss glares down, "Oh come on, you so are! If nothing else, the hangovers are a clear detriment to combat ability!"
[20:46] <Ithea> "That must be some good ale for the pixies to be willing getting tossed about," Ithea says with a raised eyebrows. "That or you already got them well and truly drunk before the idea even came up."
[20:48] <Kotono> "Both!" Balyss exclaims, as a cloud giant comes forth! A cheer erupts as he holds a pixie in hand - Lief! He's grinning and waving his own tankard, "You'd best as hell make this!" he challenges.
[20:51] * Ithea laughs. "I don't suppose the pixies cheat and flutter their wings in the direction of the ale if the giants look like they're missing?" Ithea asks with a grin, keeping it low enough that the giant and Lief shouldn't hear over the cheers.
[20:54] <Kotono> "Wouldn't surprise me," Sylvie adds, as Balyss whoops and cheers! With that, Lief is tossed!

[20:57] <Kotono> Oh, it's a throw, a hell of a throw...but Lief slips a bit in the giant's hand, and is thrown straight down into the floor! He slams down with a clearly audible, bone cracking SPLAT, just lying there as a pool of blood oozes out from him. Dead silence save for the sound of the Jarl running up, clad in adamantine armor. Biting off a curse, "You drunken idiot!" he says, "Did your mother
[20:57] <Kotono> throw you head first into the floor when she birthed you? Adjust for movement in your hand!" He kneels besides Lief, engulfing him in a hand as magic is cast. He raises his voice as Lief is healed, "The Stone of Defeat AND the Stone of Failure are called for!" he declares, "Outside!"
[20:57] * Ithea winces. "No, I guess they're too drunk to think of cheating like that," Ithea comments at the sight.
[20:57] <Kotono> Balyss visibly winces, looking away. Sylvie winces, but lighter. Simmer stares a moment, and is the one to speak, "I hope his brains aren't scrambled after that."
[20:58] <Kotono> The giants and a good part of the party head sto the portals, heading outside. At this Balyss hops on down off the table, "Oh well, he'll survive," waving a hand, "So anyway, Ithea, sit down!"
[20:59] * Ithea does that, grabbing another drink as she plops on a seat.
[21:00] <Ithea> "How are you liking Aurora, so far, Simmer?" Ithea asks their latest recruit.
[21:02] <Kotono> "I wish it had more fire," she calls over the lessening ambient noise, "But it's impressive."
[21:03] <Kotono> "It's good to have you," Balyss settles on in, pouring everyone new drinks.
[21:04] <Kotono> "Thirded," Sylvie says, "If we're being herded into reuniting, at least we can have fun doing it. Oh, that reminds me. Ithea, if Josa - our boss and that candy maker - gets dragged over here too, we're going to have him open up a candy story next door to Creasea's. He can outfit the army with cherry bombs!"
[21:09] * Ithea laughs. "Well, I doubt we'll have any more coincidental meetings out in the planes, but who knows? And you can always just send him an invite," Ithea comments to Sylvie first before turning to Simmer. "Aurora is pretty morphic, we could probably ask Elena and Galariel to reserve a spot that can meet that...Afina will probably want that too now."
[21:12] <Kotono> "Please," Simmer speaks up, "It would be good for Afina, too. Changing like this is traumatic."
[21:13] <Kotono> "Nooo, let's not invite him," Sylvie says quickly, "Moving on! So anyway Ithea, we're planning a wedding party for Adrian and Misalea!"
[21:14] <Kotono> "Oh come on, he's not tha tbad. My vocabulary has risen from his eloquent and polished diction; nay, I have learned great secrets of both sound and written word, all composed together by the fair vagaries of Josa's wise worOW!" Balyss is cut off as Sylvie smacks her upside the head, before both of them dissolve into laughter.
[21:20] * Ithea smiles at that. "Okay, so yeah, Adrian and Misalea's wedding party. To start off: Let's make it a memorable party without pixie shotputs?" Ithea suggests.
[21:21] <Kotono> "Cheers to that," Sylvie seconds as she refills drinks for everyone. "Second motion, Balyss keeps her clothes on and does not dance on people's laps while naked."
[21:22] <Kotono> "HEY!" Balyss protests and turns red as Simmer, who raises her glass, "Cheers to that. Third, about a big bonfire outside....the courtyard, I think it is? It's a good thing ot celebrate around, and Ysgard's cold."
[21:23] * Ithea muses on that. "A bonfire would be interesting, and would certainly give the place some atmosphere during the festivities. I'm okay with that, sure," Ithea says. It'd certainly make Simmer feel more at home as well.
[21:23] <Kotono> "That's not a bad idea," Balyss says, "We've done a bonfire for a couple of revels back in Balmuria. Good one, Simmer." Nodding, and pausing, "Oh Sylvie, you brought something to take notes with?"
[21:24] <Kotono> "Of course," Taking out a parchment sheet and quill, she starts to right, "No pixie shotput, no naked Balyss dances, yes to bonfire," Speaking each one as she writes it, "So if we have a bonfire, there will be a lot of people around it. Sounds like a good place ot center the food and drink."
[21:25] <Kotono> "If we're going with a bonfire, there should be warming food and drink, as well as spicy choices," Simmer speaks up, "Peppers and things like that. You can get them, can't you?"
[21:25] <Kotono> "Yeah," Sylvie waves a hand, "Brightwater. We'll have to take you later, Simmer!" Snapping her fingers, "When we have some time to kill."
[21:26] <Kotono> "That's ont a terrible idea, but not all the way. People'll be thirsty and also want cool things because of the fire. How about hot and cold - Ysgard weather and bonfire, hot and cold choices to eat and drink...through the good time sand bad times of marriage?" she says, "It's a bit of  astretch, but it could be our theme."
[21:26] * Ithea concentrates briefly and a bowl filled with peppers pops up in the table between them. "In a pinch, we always have the cafeteria if we can't find any refreshments or want something more exotic," Ithea also points out.
[21:26] <Kotono> "Oh, right!" Sylvie laughs, "I forgot again. You'd think a magical cafeteria with unlimited food would stick to mind more."
[21:27] <Kotono> "Well, if little miss blondie didn't have her heard in a book all the time," Balyss puts a hand on her hip, before gunning down her drink and grinning, "Maybe you'd notice."
[21:27] <Kotono> "Pfft." Blowing her lips, Sylvie ignores that otherwise. "Thanks. How spicy are these?" She takes one, as Simmer takes one as well and pops it into her mouth.
[21:28] <Ithea> "What about music? I do recall hearing Misalea sing a song once, it was rather beautiful, if a little haunting, not really appropriate, but still, I'd like to get some music that's traditional for her people. Maybe ask some of the students of Graceful Blow about that, we don't really have any of 'em here to ask, I think, though?"
[21:28] * Ithea starts looking around the room, searching for any of the students she's met before.
[21:37] <Kotono> There's a few about, here and there. "They're a bit clannish," Sylvie replies meanwhile.
[21:38] <Kotono> "Good thought," Balyss says, drinking away, "I wish Ves or Marianne were here. They're good at planning too. Hm. How about..." Trailing off a few moments, "No, that won't work.  Oh! We'll have to do it under moonlight, of course."
[21:39] <Ithea> "Hold that thought," Ithea says as she goes to fetch one of them, moving towards the closest of the bunch, figuring any of them would be happy to help plan a party for Misalea.
[21:45] <Kotono> This one has purple hair and an easy smile, face blushing red as Ithea catches up to her. "Hi...oooh, ge'ral 'the" she slurrs it out, putting her arms around her. "Hello, kitty-kat. Wanasha plah?"
[21:49] * Ithea blinks. "You're...Shan, right?" Ithea asks, remembering a purple haired student from what seemed like so long ago, back when they'd first met Elrisa and her students. "Uhm, we're planning a wedding party for Misalea and Adrian, do you know who'd be good to ask about songs that Misalea would like then?" Ithea asks, figuring it might be better to ask if the plastered girl can point her to someone slightly less drunk for that sort of
[21:50] <Ithea> ooc: (cut off?) someone slightly less drunk for that sort of information.
[21:51] <Kotono> "Uh huh," Drawling that before gigglign, "I can answer," she says, shaking her head, "I'm not that drunk! Really I'm not," she says with a serious looking smile, "She used to sing to us all the time."
[21:54] <Ithea> "Well, alright, come join us then," Ithea says, leading Shan towards the table with the three former residents of Balmuria.
[21:55] <Kotono> Thus she joins you, sitting down. "Well," she says before anything else, "She likes beautiful songs about nature, love, life, the forest, anything like that. Elven songs," She emphasises.
[21:56] <Kotono> "That sort of music isn't too hard to get. The firre eladrin should be able to do that," Balyss says, "Easily, and Ebony has a beautiful voice according to them." Humming a moment, "Write that all down, Sylvie."
[21:57] <Kotono> "Yes sir," Sylvie d oes so dutifully, as Shen reaches out to ruffle Ithea's ears. "You really are cute," she says, as abruptly Balyss coughs into her hand and Sylvie snickers. Simmer just raises an eyebrow, "Beautiful, more like. She's a woman in full bloom - cute isn't the proper term."
[21:59] * Ithea colors at the attention, and she bats Shan's hands away. "Hey! Leave my ears alone!" she says, sounding a little embarrased.
[22:00] <Kotono> Sylvie dutifully reaches out after, scratching behind Ithea's ears, "It's a guilty pleasure," she admits, "Nothing personal, but I bet everyone's thought about doing it."
[22:00] <Kotono> "I haven't," Balyss huffs, crossing her arms, "Really now, that has to be incredibly degrading...and okay, it is cute."
[22:01] <Kotono> "Try doing that to a lion," Simmer says, "A burning lion. It's not so cute when they're mauling you."
[22:01] <Kotono> "Yes, but that's on fun," Sylvie retorts, "I don't think Ithea will maul me. If she mauls anyone, it'll be Stille."
[22:03] * Ithea flattens her ears against her hair and narrows her eyes. "Don't bet on it. Next one that reaches for my ears, I'm twisting their arm until they start crying," Ithea says with a huff of her own, before she crosses her arms.
[22:05] <Kotono> "Oh cheer up!" Simmer says, concentrating. A drink of something red and fizzy appears, "Have this, Ithea."
[22:05] <Kotono> "Sorry sorry!" Holding her hands up, Sylvie quickly backs off.
[22:05] <Kotono> Shen just smiles, watching the interplay for now.
[22:36] <Ithea> "Right, well, continuing with the list of party ideas..." Ithea says as she goes for the drink, eyeing Sylvie's and Shan's hands with suspicion. "What other entertainment besides music do we want to have? And Sylvie, show your list to Shan, also?"
