Nymph interlude (Afina)

There's some ridges and the like, but you don't see anything like pathways within range of sight.

Are any elementals visible descending/ascending? Are they climbing or earth-melding?

[Anastasia]

Peering down, you can see a few elementals. They're descending - oddly, they're falling slowly, like under feather fall.

[Ebiris]

Experimentally, Afina stops her wings and lets herself drop for a second, starting them up afterwards and re-ascending, just to see if that feather fall type effect is pervasive to the area.

[Anastasia]

You fall slowly, gracefully. Just like the elementals.

[Ebiris]

"We can just drop down," Afina says, hovering back in place. "Although Simmer should stay on Gold or Arrel just in case we end up falling towards something we'd rather not land on."

[Anastasia]

Simmer hops right back on, "Lead on, Afina? You're the one suited to this best."

[Ebiris]

"Follow me, we'll go down from the centre so we can see best all around," Afina says, flying off towards the middle of the great sinkhole before she allows herself to fall.

[Anastasia]

All of you begin to go down. The first 10 minutes or so of descending are uneventful. Veins of magma in the walls provide illumination, and soon enough you see an obstacle. Below is a floating sea of magma, blocking the way further down. Magma paraelementals simply fall into and sink in, uncaring.

"So..." Afina flutters her wings a bit to level herself up. "Simmer and I don't need to breathe, but I don't think it's quite so easy for you two, is it?" she asks Arrel and Gold.

[Anastasia]

"It isn't," Gold says, peering down, "One of you should go ahead and see how deep it is."

[Ebiris]

"I will, I can come back up easily," Afina volunteers herself as the logical choice. Casting message to allow communication with everyone at a distance she hastes herself before plunging into the magma!
