"It is not a kind weapon," Chrona 42 agrees, "For the Incarnations wish mortals to age and pass, rather than to find eternity in mortal life. Even Chronomancy struggles against that. Still, it is yours to use as you like and it is not innately evil, though it could easily be used in an evil way."

"Swords are made to wound and kill, this is no different," Alicia agrees. "Okay then, what to examine next..." she goes to look at the spot that cycles day and night rapidly. "Time is accelerated here? Oh, that reminds me! What about the astral plane and its timelessness? How does that relate to Chronomancy and the Temporal Compact? Why is the astral plane like that?"

Anastasia

"Here sits a place where time is accelerated and looped - as it cannot go beyond the Present, it loops an endless cycle of days and nights when it would push past the present." Chrona explains, coming up to it. "Were a man to step in here, you would see him age from childhood to adulthood to elderly in less than a day."

Syala listens for now, and in Marie's mind, 'Alicia is so at home with this,' Syala says, 'It's beautiful watching her like this.'

"Just like someone can go to the astral plane, experience a subjectively short time, and then upon leaving it find themselves aged by years," Alicia says, to stay on the topic of her query about the astral plane. "Although... in this case wouldn't you see the man drop dead of thirst a lot sooner?"

'It's a shame I can't use these spells, there's so many possibilities!' Marie returns. 'But yes, you can tell she's in her element. Woman loves magic.'

Anastasia

'I'm coming up with so many ideas. Imagine doing what Chrona did mid battle and returning in an instant, after a day to rest and heal?'

Meanwhile Chrona merely inclines his head, "Conceded, it would not relieve his needs. However, time in such a situation can be relative. There is the absolute Present, but behind it one may experience time far faster or slower. In this loop we would seem impossibly slow. Were there food, water and supplies within the disturbance, he could live out his life while barely any time passes for us."

At this Syala speaks up, "So are you saying this loop is outside of the Present because it's cycling around and around?"

"With appropriate supplies, yes," Alicia says. "You could train an army from raw recruits to skilled professionals in an afternoon... If the astral plane's timelessness could actually be controlled and predicted the same effect could be achieved even now despite the Compact." She turns to Chrona 42. "You haven't elaborated on the astral plane's relation to all this despite my prompting," she observes.

Anastasia

"It is suspended in time by the will of the Incarnations. It is removed from the Present, following at its side like a ghost." Chrona explains, "Unseen and invisible, those in it protected from the Presence's march of time until they exit, at which point it is reasserted."

"Do you know the Incarnation's reasons for that being the case? Did Chronomancy spells function in it before the Compact?" Alicia presses, eager to sate her curiosity.

Anastasia

"I do not, but I do know Chronomancy could fight against the plane's traits, even allow a region to flow in the Present. Bring Astral Flow is the name of the spell, it is a 10th circle spell." Chrona reports.

Ebiris

"That's well beyond my power to emulate," Alicia says, honestly surprised that it works there considering how teleportation spells don't work on the astral. "Well, back to our time loop here... it's neither a paradox nor a wound in time, so a different spell to resolve this?"

Anastasia

"In this case, a wish or miracle will suffice without more specialized magic," Chrona 42 says, "Try so."

Ebiris

"Unfortunately I can cast neither," Alicia says, as those spells are deadly in the wrong sense for a battlemage like her. "What about Unbinding? Or Mage's Disjunction?"

text for unbinding and what it can affect:
Quote
The unbinding negates charm and hold spell of all types (like hold person), arcane locks and similar closures, spells with a duration longer than instantaneous that create physical or magical barriers (wall of fire, wall of force), guards and wards, temporal stasis, and slow spells, among others. The effect of a statue spell is ended. A magic jar is shattered – forever destroyed – and the life force within snuffed out. In addition, any spell that holds magical effects, including other spells, immediately releases them at a range of 0 ft. (including magic mouth, imbue with spell ability, and so on).

Anastasia

"It should," Chrona 42 steps back now, "Try and learn."

Alicia nods and attempts a disjunction first, as it's more controlled than the huge radius of unbinding.

[17:04] <@Ebiris> roll 1d20+32 disjunction

Anastasia

Disjunction flows, but the time loop is unaffected.
