Ahead the heat haze twists and shimmers, as if daring you to go forward. The path ahead on the ground looks clear, at least immediately ahead, but it's hazy. The sky is hazy as well, but is currently filled with various warriors waging war against one another.

[Nephrite]

Moore gestures forward towards the ground path, but he hovers above the ground as they continue forward!

It's Moore's eyes that save him.

You fly on ahead, progressing through the haze. It's hard to see anything ahead of you now, but you see it just in time. The ground beneath you is suddenly boiling sand and molten glass, a cry of alarm from Kaja letting him hop back and into Jetina.

A shimmer. Light shines on the horizon towards what should be the portals, momentarily piercing the heat haze. Another beam, leaving nothing of the efreet behind.

"Almost there," Kaja says, "Around and forward!"

You couldn't fail the Perception check.

[Nephrite]

"I know it looks terrifying, but you don't need to be alarmed." Moore says. "It won't hurt us."

Moore proceeds!

On and on and on you hurry - and finally you pass through the haze. Ahead is chaos, a fortified zone of efreet. They hold the line here, great masses of them with shields and barriers, blocking the way. Arrows and fire, are already hurtling towards you, flaming boulders and worse. But it's ahead! You're maybe 1/3rd of a mile to the portals now! You're getting closer, even as carpet riding efreet can be seen, flying over to join the battle deeper in.

[Nephrite]

"Well, we'll have to punch through this." Moore says. "Give me a moment, let me make this a bit easier on all of us."

Intent here will be to do some song buffing for everyone in the area, I imagine it will lead to init since they're probably not just going to let us do that.

Yep, pretty much. This was pretty much init land unless you beat a full retreat or did something zany.

Cleansing Rain, dropped on the closest group of efreet towards us. Intent is so the radius is slightly in front of where they are so if they come out to fight us from where they are they'll still be in it.

Cleansing rain falls, burning efreet as they bring their shields up, blocking it as best they can. Amid this rain Kaja smiles, "Dead ahead?" he asks, coiled and ready to spring forward.

"Dead ahead." Moore agrees. "Try and keep them in the range of that rain if you can."
