So you did. DMs do stupid things on occasion when running multiple combats. My bad.

What's your old init?

I think I win due to higher mod? Anyway, my action is set! I only need two rounds to bring my portal-nuking aura into play.

The nycaloths are not slow - they're moving fast, but not fast enough. Another dozen or two dozen manage to emerge as your teleport block comes into play. As the nycaloths close in, great waves of cloying, greasy darkness surround Seira all around, the combined power of dozens of powerful daemons.

Doesn't beat your SR.

Yet it's nothing against you as...

They're obviously in the way of advancing straight ahead, so it's your go to react. If you fly straight on you'll plunge into melee range with them.

Can I get a brief rundown of their strengths and weaknesses? My IC knowledge is fairly godly.
<Steph> I might have made a terrible mistake

Anastasia

Nycaloths are fearsome melee fighters with a barrage of axe strikes, claws and sometimes bites as well. The cause bleeding wounds that can be difficult to heal, as well as the ability to grab a creature and lift off with them, taking them into the air. The stronger they get, the better they get at brawling - they're roughly analogous to cornugons in that particular niche.

They don't have any weaknesses besides the normal weaknesses of daemons. Don't bother with acid or poison on them, it won't harm them at all.

These ones look powerful, developed - likely more than your normal nycaloth on an individual basis. For this many to work together, it suggests a powerful entity is directing them into this battle.

How does it feel, to be trapped here with me?

Seira closes to within 400ft, and then unicorns fill the Astral Sea! A burst of light bright enough to cut a swath through the invaders follows swiftly on their heals, before the entire area is bathed in sunlight!

Many Moments of Prescience, Seira's Unicorn Apocalypse, Twinned Sunlance

160 damage to creatures to which sunlight is harmful or unnatural.
Also blinded.

Ref DC36 half and removes the blindness.

I presume no undead/oozes/fungi/etc~

Quick question, how are you getting SA on the 'loths? This is round two of them being in init, they aren't flatfooted.

I misread the spell desc, I don't think I ever used it before. That said! Let's say I used Impromptu SA. I would've gone for it if I realized the spell doesn't let me auto-SA.
<Steph> I might have made a terrible mistake

Anastasia

That's fair. Also nothing like undead or fungi.

The unlucky nycaloth hit by the sunlance is vaporized on the spot, while the others are assailed and knocked around amid the sunburst. The light devastates the attackers, leaving the nycaloths disorganized and blinded. They fumble about, struggling to recover from that. The charge towards you is broken, at least for the moment. Unholy blights are flung, but none come close, none with them like that.

Go. They took that on the chin.

Did they seem weak vs sunlight? The desc of shadowy daemons made me wonder, and it'll help me figure out how buff they are.

Seira decides to keep things simple at present, and follows up that assault with three fireballs blossoming in their midst! She also keeps moving, yet maintains the blocked portal within the range of her dimensionally locking aura to see if increased exposure to it would ruin the portals better.

The fireballs roast the broken daemon charge as she soars past, more of them burnt alive and to nothing within her goldenfire. There are a few survivors, blinded and broken, but without any doubt the charge is broken.

Taking a moment, you see Honeydip's front line is charging into the daemons well, meeting them head on.

Seira, it's also not like yugoloths to do this. Someone must have paid an absurd amount of money for this, or more likely something more valuable.

Corwin

And yet, there's little I can do but repel the obvious attack at the Cauldron, Seira responds, finishing off the survivors and finally uncovering the original portal for the nycaloths.

I want to see whether being covered by Jaela's Teleport Block for 4 rounds killed the portal in question, or if it's still (slowly) reviving.
<Steph> I might have made a terrible mistake

Anastasia

Glancing back, you see that portal is reviving - faster than the others, too.

Dimensional Locks it is, then. Seira proceeds to seal that portal and others near it, before continuing on her way across the Astral doing more of the same. At some point, her enemy will either get tired of this or tip their hand, and that would mean she could actually respond properly.
