Seira sets it on fire even as she advances to spot more of them. Setting off an army-killer spell really requires an army as a target to be of any real use.

To your mild surprise, the first fireball merely burns the thing, making it begin to skitter away.

It doesn't get a chance to as the second fireball makes it a torch, burning away into spent ash.
