It's a complex spell weave. On the surface it appears to be naught but what the riddle suggests: Any but those without greed or desire for what lies within will be struck down. That's also complete bull, your mastery of magic letting you see past such deceptions and into the true magic in play.

What lies beyond that is a spell that simply smites anyone who attempts to open the door unless they're attuned to the door itself. No way around it no matter how pure your heart is, unless you are already set so the door will let you open it safely. Otherwise, expect to get zapped and be unable to open the door anyway.

It's hard - painfully hard. You have to chant just the right names, move just so...but somehow you manage it. The door pops ajar, without smiting you or anyone.
