*Spoilers*Fic discussion-Chaos Crescendo by Dancing Imp

For those of you unfamiliar with Chaos Cresendo, it is the story that works with the premise that Makoto Kino(Sailor Moon's Sailor Jupiter, for those of you who don't know the Japanese names) parent's show up from a alternate dimension after 10 years or so.

Oh, did I mention that her parents are Ranma and Ukyou Kino?  A decent SM/R 1/2 cross, with a dash of Gold Diggers throw in for ambiance.  Quite a good read, if I say so myself.  

One thing I really like about the story is Makoto being Ranma and Ukyou's daughter.  When I stopped to think about it, I could see that happening.  It fits her rather well, I had no problems with accepting that they were family.

Heh, it's been awhile since i've read that fic. It started off really good, and had some interesting things going on. I also liked the idea of Makoto's parents being Ranma and Ukyou. I lost interest later on, because things started to get really weird.

What exactly do you mean by that?

Although, I do agree with the basic sentiment.  The last chapter veered rather offcourse, and the Beryl battle and aftermath were simply blah.

What I meant was the whole thing with Ranma and Ukyou's daughter being a wererat. I lost interest in the story after that.

I've never been too interested in Sailor Moon anyway, and I couldn't get into the story after that.

So I guess I didn't necessarily mean 'weird', but simply not interesting to me.

Gah, what was the wererat's name?  It escapes me. -_-

Anyway, I thought that was well done enough.  What got me was when it strayed too far from the SM canon.  Really, the Ranma canon wasn't important except for the backstory.  For Gold Diggers, I think it should have stayed in the backround flavor and not played an active role.

I think this story would work best if it kept to the SM timeline, except for the changes that Ranma and Ukyou bring to it.

I agree about that. It certainly would have kept things more on track, and interesting.

Even if I don't care for SM too much anymore, the story was still good.

There was just something about it that made me lose interest not too long after their daughter was discovered.

It was the sudden emotional jumps that forced me to quit. One moment everything is honkey-dorey, the next minute they're breaking down in tears. And just as suddenly everything's OK again.

It happens so suddenly I'm left feeling cheated.

It was cool. But I agree with PAnda, also the fact that I never seen Gold Digger well...kinda blah to me. It was cool at first but did they really need a wererat daughter?

Well, there have two updates to Chaos Cresendo.  One was an 'omake' that described what exactly happened to Ranma and Ukyou during the Beryl battle.

It was alright...I really don't have much to say about it. *Shrugs*

The other update is the start of the second book. A dragon kin dude has come to Earth and stolen Herb's kingdom. Ranma and family are off to help save the day.

In one word I can express my sentiments for this idea.

Dissapointment.

I -so- wish this story would stick to the SM canon more instead of using it just for the Sailors, and this chapter seems to be futhering this trend.  Oh well, I guess I just see this story differently than the author.
