"Eek!" Miaka shrieked, opening her backpack and reaching into it. "Tamahome!"

Seeing Drall in trouble, Devon pulled out another throwing knife and, hampered by his wounded leg, hobbled around the ogre to the left in an attempt to get a clear shot at the wolf that Drall had slashed across the snout.

A flash of light lit the grass as Tamahome appeared, his resplendency paling only in comparison to Miaka herself.   The white shirt with purple cuffs, covered by a silky orange vest looked to pretty to fight in, as he looked upon the battlefield.

Drall kicked and swung at the molesting beast, both blows striking, causing the Wolf to howl in pain.

Drall's screams joined the beasts as pain filled through his leg, a wolf nibbling at his ankle.  Drall's hand reached for the blade, only to stop, when a cruel black blade sliced into his chest.

O'karn, who moved swiftly for a man of his bulk, had taken one large stride and sent his blade down through the foul beast, an into Drall's chest.  THe sword cut through the clothing and light chain-mail the dying one wore.

Tamahome raised his silver sword, glistening in the sunlight.  His hair fluttered as he moved, his ponytail swaying in the breeze.  Bringing down his sword, everyone could hear the sickening crunch as cut deeply into the last wolf.

He looked up from his work, across the battlefield and smiled at his dear Miaka.

Miaka beamed at Tamahome, taking her hand out of her backpack, closing it and rushing over to her fiance.

"Tamahome!" Miaka wailed, tackling him in a flying glomp. "I've missed you so much!"

Seeing the man with the silver sword appear and dispatch the last wolf, Devon slipped the knife back up his sleeve.

Looking with distaste at the dead or dying man, he cast a wary glance at the ogre as he cleaned and stowed his sword.

Tamahome caught his love in fierce hug.   "I'm just glad you're safe," he whispered as he nestled his head into her hair.

Lafiel returned after a minute from the room.

The only glimpse Daggedal caught of it was one of a  nicely lit room with white walls.

"You said once you gave your word you keep it.  If I offered you this ring, which will not only protect you from the sickness that afflicts those you who use magic, and will amplify your power," she held out her hand and revealed a ring of gold and intertwined diamond, "to kill your colleagues and protect Zaphiel, would you?"

"I was scared," Miaka sniffed. "But I knew you'd come and save me!" She tightened the hold her arms had around Tamahome's waist.

Slightly amused with the spectacle the girl and the guy with the sword were making, Devon took the time to examine his wounds.

Nearly gone, Drall tries to reach into a hidden compartment in his cloak and grab his broken ancestral blade with one hand, while the other tries to put one on his unknown rings.

Tamahome started to glow, as he spoke.  "I'd give my life for you, you know that."

He bent down, bestowing a kiss upon her hair as he faded into nothingness.

Miaka sniffed again, and stared longingly at the spot Tamahome had been at.
