Miaka traveled into the dining room,  being the only place she knew where to find Clara at.

Hitomi looked upon the small girl sadly.  "That's sounds horrible... so horrible to loose a loved one.  These firends of yours, they are traveling to Camelot as well?"

"Feh. A breastplate will serve. Ah'm 6 feet tall and 1'6 wide. And ah'll need a helm. And a shoulder guards. The works. 'ere, I'll write down me sizes for you. I suppose you can read?"

In Daggedal's experiance, the average smith couldn't..

"Can I talk to Clara about a snack?" Miaka asked Arkanel with a smile. "If you'd just point me in the right direction, I'll be out of your hair."

Her smile dropped slightly, though she doubted anyone would notice. For the injustice of it all! This was the first time she had to ask for directions to the kitchen... this world was definitely evil and in need of saving, if her powers were interfered with.

The man looked disdainfully at Daggedal.  "I can read just fine.  I don't have enough steel for all that, but I can get some within the week.  Unless you want it made of iron?"

Arkanel nodded to Miaka.  "Clara wouldn't mind serving you here, or even downstairs.  But you can go through that door to the kitchen," he pointed to the door in the  far corner, "she should be there."

"Thanks!" Miaka enthused, and followed the direction Arkanel had specified.

She walked through the door and found a large rectangular room.  The closer half was a kitchen, immaculately clean as Clara worked on the last of the dishes.  The farther half of the room consisted of a table and many cabinets.

Clara turned to Miaka when she entered.  "Can I help you?"

Miaka turned large, round eyes on Clara. "Could I have a snack? Pweaase? Pwetty pwease?"

Clara smiled softly.  "What would you like?  I have some left-over dinner."

"That would be so nice!" Miaka replied. "Could I gave a basket with the left overs?"

Clara nodded, and moved to one of the cabinets, taking out a small basket, she then moved around the room, quickly putting together a full bag of cooked pig, some fruits, and some vegtables.  Finishing, she walked over and handed the basket to Miaka.

"Enjoy."

"Yay!" Miaka exclaimed in joy. "Thanks, I love you, bye bye!"

Miaka ran outside, basket in one hand and the teleporting rod and the lamp Clara had given her earlier in the other. When she got out into the front yard, she thought for a moment, and put the foot-long teleporter rod inside the basket, covering it with several bananas and putting her handkerchief atop everything.

Satisfied with the results, Miaka went towards the meeting place Lafiel had scheduled for her, lamp and basket in her hands.

Miaka walked to the bridge, and then over it, moving away from it she stood and waited.  A few minutes later, a hand landed on her shoulder.

Spinning, she turned to see Lafiel's smiling face.

"I'm glad you came," she said softly.

Miaka nodded. "Of course I came! And I brought food, too!"
